Mod suggestions for attributes

This thread is just for suggestions for how to mod attributes in. It's not for talking about if they are a good thing or a bad thing.

If I was going to do it, it would go something like this:

Keep the whole current system as it is.

Add two attributes per "constellation" for a total of six

The attributes don't affect Health, Magicka or Stamina

They give small bonuses because it is unbalancing the current game. You have to play at a higher difficulty to keep around the balance.

You get two (2) points total each level to increase any of the following, either two attributes by one point each, or one attribute by two points.

Warrior attributes:
Strength
Endurance

Mage attributes:
Intelligence
Lore

Thief attributes:
Agility
Charm

Attribute descriptions:

Strength
- Increase carry weight
- Increase damage with all weapons and bash

Endurance
- Increase effectiveness of block
- Increase effectiveness of armor

Intelligence
- Increase effectiveness of spells
- Allow certain unique quest endings

Lore
- Increase effectiveness of magic items
- Allow certain unique quest endings

Agility
- Increase damage with all weapons but not bash
- Increase movement speed

Charm
- Increase effectiveness of Speech
- Allow certain unique quest endings

I'm not sure to what extend modding attributes will be possible. Depending on that, I could even imagine a perk system for attributes.

I think the biggest decisions would be whether you choose the attribute you want to increase, or they increase automatically based on your actions. I think I'd prefer the first option, but I wouldn't mind either way.


Strength

  • Increases encumbrance
  • Increases maximum weapon damage (a bit less for bows than other weapons. you can only pull it so far before it snaps).
  • Increases your resistance to staggering
  • ...


Endurance

  • Increases maximum health
  • Increases stamina regeneration
  • Lowers the stamina cost of power attacks, sprints, etc
  • Increases your resistance against poison and bleeding
  • ...


Intelligence
  • Increases your maximum magicka
  • Increases the effects of enchantments
  • Increases the level speed of all skills slightly
  • Lowers magic damage variance
  • ...


Willpower
  • Increases magicka regeneration
  • Increases maximum magic damage
  • Increases resistance to magic
  • Increases resistance to debuffs like paralyze, calm, etc
  • Increases resistance to staggering and blocks
  • ...


Agility

  • Increases attack speed with weapons
  • Increases running speed
  • Increases jumping distance
  • Lowers delay between magic spells
  • Increases enemies' weapon damage variance (poor man's dodging)
  • ...


Dexterity
  • Lowers weapon damage variance
  • Increases chance to successfully create potions, enchantments, weapons, armor, etc.
  • Increases chance to successfully pick locks and pickpocket
  • ...


Luck
  • Increases chance of chance-based perks and items
  • Influences everything you do by a small amount
  • ...
