A mod that adds trade between cities

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 6:45 am

I've run a few searches but the generalised terms of trade and cities etc don't help much. I know that there's no vehicles in oblivion, though i wonder now if someone has created any (i.e caravans/wagons).

I'd love to see a mod of some sort that has a live trading system, goods that are abundant and cheap in Leyawin (fish or a certain herb etc) might be worth tons in Bruma and vice versa. Being able to perhaps join trading syndicates in a similar way to investing in shops? Perhaps being able to raid these wagons as well if you want the highwayman style of character?

I'd love to see somethign like this if it exists, even if it's a simple and small version.

Not really sure how much it does what you want, but have you seen Tamriel Travelers?

That actually looks pretty awesome, it doesn't quite have the trade between npcs in the cities option, but i imagine that would be a major undertaking anyways. Still, i've only just restarted playing and i'm impressed with the latest version of OOO and all the extra NPCs getting around, it'd be nice to include travelling merchants as well. Thanks for that.

There's also http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7776, which insinuates there is trade going on between cities even if it doesn't actually show it. And I believe it also adds traveling merchants on the roads, but I could be wrong about that - it's been a while since I've actually played Oblivion (too busy modding for it lol).

Enhanced Economy factors in the effect of the Oblivion crisis on the global economy - not exactly what you are looking for though. BTW, welcome back Yeti! I thought you were an urban legend. Who would have thought you are a huge Oblivion fan.....

There's http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1028500-rel-cyrodiil-economic-overhaul/page__hl__cyrodiil%20economic%20overhaul, but appears to have been abandoned at beta stage....

However, it also adds regional factors so that some items are worth more in Bravil than they are in Bruma, while with some other items it's the other way around etc., which is exactly what Yeti is looking for. (And the Oblivion crisis effects can be disabled.)
The only thing EE doesn't have are carts or merchants traveling from one city to another.
