Mod that fix the weather south of the dam, along the river t

Post » Mon Dec 05, 2011 2:46 pm

Is there a mod that makes everywere in New Vegas have the standard blue skys with normal coloring. I hate it when I travel around the Colorado south of the dam, everything is nearly black and white it make exploring much less enjoyable. I don't want something that is an overhaul like Fellout, I just want the vanilla skys and color scheme.

@FO3
Oh Wow LOL!!!
That teaches me to only read the topic and first 2 sentences.....
This is what I'm doing right now.

@Kefka, I don't think you're going to find a "Blue Skies" mod for only that area without it being
part of a mod that changes the sky for the entire game.

Thank you, so many time have I made a post and people respond to it that clearly did not read the post. Almost everytime I make a request/help post like this really. As they assume I am one of those people that don't bother to search and have never played a Bethesda game before, so barley know what modding is.

We all make mistake, and there are alot of newbie type post were the person put zero effort in to looking for what they were asking for.

Damn, is there a way to use fellout with out the darker night part? I used 50% darker night and I like that, Fellout is too dark and makes the Strip look terrible imo.

Mmhm. Simply adjust your load order so that Darker Nights loads after Fellout and it should work, as long as Darker Nights isn't a script and overrides all settings that Fellout changes.

As for the Strip, someone mentioned that in the Fellout comment thread. Try the first version and see if that works out for you.

Course, I don't notice it because I've pretty much made Fellout into some kind of freak monster of a weather setup with other visual mods.

Ok I will try, I recall trying to do that with another mod with 50% darker nights, might have been the Electric City darker esp and it did not work, but will try it with Fellout.

Edit: Just tried its not perfect but it works, thanks. There is still a change when around the Colorado but not the almost black and white change of before, I guess even the mighty Fellout could not completely destroy this horrible abomination that Obsidian created.

Really though what the hell were they thinking when making the area look so bleak and horrible not even the green tinted nastiness of FO3 looked that bad, same with the 1 perk every 2 level thing, glad there are mods to fix this sillyness.

If you want to try something else, there's an alternative of using Fellout.

Try http://www.fileplanet.com/218300/210000/fileinfo/Fallout:-New-Vegas---Ultra-Realistic-World-Lighting-Mod. It may give you better results and I believe Darker Nights can work with this as well. This was originally on the Nexus but the creator's account got accidentally banned then well... things spiraled out of control.

No assumptions about your searching abilities on my part, it was my fault for skimming your post too quickly and
after reading the first two sentences jumping to the conclusion that you were looking for something like fellout, without reading your third sentence.
(I was playing the odds that I had a 66% chance of answering you correctly, by only reading the two sentences  )

My pet peeve is questions where it's obvious the person did no research at all, and asks,
"Is there a mod that does..........?" and not only is the thread sitting about two threads above a
[RELZ] thread of a mod that does exactly what the person is looking for, but the mod in question,
is also a featured mod on the homepage of the Nexus.

IIRC there's a section in FO3 that kind of loses it's color too, it's down around that area with
Roy The Ghoul kind of Southwest of Ten Penny Tower, the color gets really washed-out there,
especially for armor pieces or other glow maps, they get almost 'pastel' in color and lose their intensity

Hmmm, I don't recall that area and I do agree about any one that does zero research.

And I am just going to stick with what I have now thanks, UWRL might be nice. But I really just wanted the vanilla skys everywhere(I like how they look). Fellouts Skies are still fine though and the b&w areas are no longer so, good enough.

I think if you add "Emmitor" or "Emittor" (from the guy who made Electrocity) you can tone down the
vibrant colors to the flatter default colors so the blues aren't so blue etc, because I use Electrocity and URWLified
something or other, with Emittor and Darker Nights and some of the colors were just way too "Black Light Poster" for me,
so I used Emittors Controls to tone the Saturation down a bit.

Might want to give that a shot, but it also might just turn that "Beige Area" in the game, back to Beige again.
Definitely give Emittor a try (If you don't use it already), it's like having all those nifty photoshop Contrast, Saturation etc controls right inside the game.

That's a third alternative haha. Just to be clear, at the moment, it's called http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39619. The Emittor is an older version with limited controls that was bundled with up to, and including, Electro-City 7B or 7C. Don't ask how I can remember, I just do. Now, it's separate and can be used independently from EC.

It works with vanilla as well and has a Cinemator setting that may suit you as all it does is improve the look you have atm and then work from there. It's name you can tell pretty instantly. Then you can adjust the saturation and tint the game further in orange and it may work.

To be frank, that's not how I use it, as you can tell from http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/images/40179-1-1299454740.jpg. And as a shameless promotion, there's more setups from different members http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40179. Very extreme but very worth it for me.

Yep, that's it!
Don't know why I was calling it Emittor, must've stuck in my head from looking at the funny "Advertisemants" on the Electrocity Page on the Nexus,
because that keeps mentioning the Emittor.
Thanks for the correction, he would've had a heck of a time finding "Emittor"

Well the Imaginator is kinda the Emittor, just with more options haha. Emittor just dealt with lighting whereas the Imaginator deals with uhh.. everything else.

I use the Imaginator, I use the bright and tight(?) setting so the strips looks better for me. Otherwise I have not cared for the other settings.
