Im thinking about reinstalling Skyrim, having not played in more thna a year. Back when I left the bigger overhaul mods hadnt really come out, and seeing these are now well into development I thought it might be time to try Skyrim out again.

However Im abit outdated when it comes to what you have to go through in order to get a good experience so I have some questions:

1. How well is the integration with steamworks atm? Is it possible to mix and match mods from both steamworks and "manual" install from a place like skyrim nexus, or does it bork stuff like loadlist etc?

2. Im mainly looking into getting a mod like SKYre and then adding in some various visual improvements and more diverse armor/weapons. Fort this would I need to start fiddling with a tool such as Wrye bash, or can I manage it with BOSS and nexus mod manager?

3. Are there any "step by step" guide that is more or less up to date on how to get back into installing and getting mods set up?

4. Is it necessary to get dawnguard/dragonborn DLC in order to get full functionality of the latest/biggest mods?
