Hello everyone, how are you today?
So this has probably been asked a billion times by now, but please bear with me in my time of need. My question is: what is the best way to mod skyrim without crashes and a decent performance (45-60 FPS)? I recently started modding my game (base game, not SE), I did all the research, used NMM, LOOT, Crash Fix, ENBoost, all that stuff, and I was fairly successful in running Skyrim with about 70 or 80 mods (mostly textures). I had like one CTD every 5 hours or so, sometimes less, which I was perfectly fine with.
Then I started pushing my luck and started to install more and more mods... CTD increased to once every 1 hour. I tried to remove some mods, but only THEN I learned that removing mods is not as simple as adding them. It wasn't long before the game broke to an unplayable state, CTDing every 10 minutes or less. The last three mods I installed were "Combat Evolved", "PermaZONES - Dangerous Encounter Zones" and "Immersive Creatures". I don't know whether those mods are particularly heavy or my game was already about to break, but it was after I installed those mods that everything turned into a [censored]fest.
Anyway, has anyone succesfully modded Skyrim and played through it for 10's of hours? If so, what are your secrets? I'm the kinds of player that likes to create one character and stick with it for 200 hours or more.
Here are my PC specs, just in case anyone's wondering:
