I love the guard to the right's expression. I love the combination of terrific image quality and hilarious composition. Keep them coming!

On a side note, how did you get the zombie to use an NPC animation?

There are so many race mods to choose from! Maybe try http://www.tesnexus.com/ - in particular, the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/categories.php section. Try "Races, Classes and Birthsigns", of course, and sort how you like - for example, if you choose "Downloads" and "Desc" (i.e., descending), you will get the ones that've been downloaded the most times first, and so on. "Advanced Search" is also very useful - it'll pick up partial words, even, most of the time. So, if you have some kinds of races in mind, that could work too.

Otherwise, if you just want better faces, there are plenty of options for that - there was a thread here not to long ago about getting the best results for female faces (to work well with bodies) in psrticular, but I think male faces were covered somewhat too. Sorry, I don't have the link right now, but I'll try and find it for you.*

edit: If it's possible, you might want to upload larger images - unless that's the resolution you play at...? Otherwise, nice shot! :)

* edit2: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1170609-how-do-i-make-body-seams-as-unnoticeable-as-possible/ - hope it's useful.

Ah thanks! That's what I usually do and I do have a bunch of different race mods but I feel like they don't look as good as the screenshots! I can never get their faces right.

Well, here's my dark elf again, wearing something else:
http://img809.imageshack.us/img809/2330/screenshot8f.jpg

Does anyone have any race mod suggestions in particular? I wanted to try to find the race from this mod: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37719 (I swear I wasn't looking up "fetish", it was just on the front page!)

Thanks!

The zombie is a pose I made for that scene, it's just a static mesh.

I see. Very clever. And is the female ogre something you created as well? I always like the idea of encountering both genders of creatures in the game.

These are beautiful shots! Are you using Unique Landscapes? Is whatever you are using compatible with Qarl's Texture Pack 3?

Last shot is epic! Always a treat to see those panoramic shots!!!
Hey, thanks, far327! Your screenies are very impressive - and for your first posting of them here, even more impressive.

So some more panoramas (3 monitors using Eyefinity = 5760x1080) - this time experimenting with Qarl's Texture Pack 3 and a few also with the View Everything in the Distance mod, and Natural Environments:

Thanks! All of this has definitely slowed the FPS way down - but I am now convinced that it is not the hardware, but the OB engine. The CPU is a Sandy Bridge i2600K and is not even beginning to heat up at all after several hours of rendering landscapes like these. There are two HD 5870 2GB gpus and they also don't seem to be working too hard. I am definitely looking forward to Skyrim with DX11 graphics, and hopefully a much more efficient game engine. It's too bad the OB engine cannot handle these great texture mods better because once a battle begins in these heavily textured areas (especially lots of grasses blowing in the wind), performance is even lower (like 5 FPS). But this is with all ATI Catalyst settings maxed as well as OB settings. I still am looking to check this out on just one screen, but if it is the OB engine that is the bottleneck, it probably won't make that much difference. I don't know enough about all of this to tell without just trying it.

These woodland textures are fine for walking/running, etc., on my computer - just not a full-on battle.

Your dark elf looks awesome!

And I think the race of that character in the Fetish Rogue mod is from the Moonshadow Elves race mod; about 99% sure but not completely positive. I didn't see an answer to your question, so voila! :D

That is an impressive set-up, I envy you! It's the same with me, whenever I get into combat with like 4+ people it gets ridiculously laggy!

Thank you! I actually recently found it too from the XRC race compilation! I attempted to alter Ellys's (my elf) race to one of them but she looked better as a vanilla dark elf o.O; I may try to make a new character later instead hehe.

Ya I actually still play as the vanilla races too... I love me my dunmer and the responses I get from being one - I just use different face and body textures, bigger ears and custom hair for improvement. Like this: http://img405.imageshack.us/f/1dunmer.jpg/ (sorry I know its dark lol) She's completely vanilla except for the textures and the hair. :) I also have a high elf mage I play as; also completely vanilla save the hair and the face textures.

Those are gorgeous shots, far327. Are they the result of just mods or are you also doing post editing work on them? Either way, they are very fine!

What mods are you using for these landscapes?

Thanks greatfool1

These are just in game shots using mods. No post editing was done on any of them. Some I actually forgot to turn on God Rays for.

Here are my mods used.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=4721 (not the reduced version, but the original)
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8500 http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11891

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9276

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30054 (God Rays only)
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16323

Does anyone know a really good host site that will not reduce the image quality or format of my original screenshots? I'm noticing the quality is not as good as my originals after posting them thru Photobucket.

Yup... It's crazy how long I went without installing UL. What a shame. Makes such a difference.
