v2.0 - Reformated by http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/user/50531-bashur/ for better aesthetics and ease of use for new members
Screenshots from various MODed Oblivion games. Normal pictures go in the General section
Continuing from this previous thread: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1144083-pictures-of-oblivion-characters-273/

Screenshot Guidelines ( MUST READ BEFORE POSTING! ):
  • No criticism should be directed at a person - only constructive criticism at the posters work
    • How you should not post criticism: "That screenshot is really lame! The poster needs to learn how to screenshot!"
    • How you should post criticism: "I'm not really a fan of that screenshot; In my opinion it could use a little more flair. Maybe try to have the angle at a diaganial slant with the sun behind them, that will give them a nice silhouette."

  • If you find a post offensive, REPORT IT !
    • Moderators know to to quickly deal with any situation of this nature, and will remove any offensive posts.
    • Arguing, instigating, or making demands regarding the post invariably ends up worsening the situation.
    • Not following the above rules could result in all involved parties getting a warning, even those defending themselves.

  • Commenting on a posters style of play in screenshots:
    • Members have a wide variety of playing styles and of capturing screenshots.
    • No subjective (or moral, ethnic, political, religious, cultural, social, sixual, etc.) preferences should be dictated to others as right or wrong in this thread.
    • All members are encouraged to post their screenshots regardless of their style of play; As long as they stay within the rules of this forum and thread.

Messages from the Moderators regarding this thread
"This is not the place to troll, flame, or spam others. You all are here to share ideas, converse, and have a good time.
We don't want anyone to spoil the party, so if someone happens to come along with those intentions
please use the report button and ignore that person's post (Do not reply to them or acknowledge them).
We will then take the appropriate action to cull the situation and remove the problem."

How to enable and take screenshots:
  • Make sure Oblivion is closed
  • Find the Oblivion.ini file in "My Documents\My Games\Oblivion"
    • NOTE: Oblivion_default.ini in Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion is NOT the one you're looking for!
  • Make a copy of the .ini file.
    • It is very important to make a back-up copy of the .ini file in case of errors.
  • Open the Oblivion.ini file in Notepad
  • Find the line "bAllowScreenShot=0" and change it to "bAllowScreenShot=1"
  • Save your changes and close Notepad, screenshots should now be enabled.
    • When you want to take a screenshot, press the "Print Screen" or "Prt Scr" key on your keyboard. This is usually to the right of your F1-F12 keys
    • If successful, you should see a large message in the upper-left of your screen that says "ScreenShot: File 'ScreenShot0.bmp' created."
    • Everytime you take a screenshot, Oblivion will create a new .bmp with a new filename (one number larger than the previous screenshot).
    • All screenshots are stored as .bmp files in the root of your Oblivion directory. The default location for this is C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion

Camera Tips:
  • Press R on your keyboard to switch back and forth from first, to third-person view
  • Press and hold R to change the camera angle by moving your mouse around. This will rotate the camera around your character.
    • A side-to-side mouse movement will rotate the camera around your player
    • A forwards-backwards mouse movement will tilt the camera angle above or below your character
    • The mouse scroll wheel will move the camera closer or farther away
  • You can equip your weapon and/or cast a spell in this position as long as you continue to hold R
  • Press the "Print Screen" or "Prt Scr" button at any time to take your shot.
    • Be careful not to take them too close together or you'll accidentally capture the "screen shot created" message in your shot

How to disable the UI (Stats Bars, Compass, etc):
  • Open the console by pressing the "~" key on your keyboard
    • This key is located next to your "1" key, above your "TAB" key, and usually below your "ESC" key
    • This will bring up the console, you'll notice a place at the bottom left of your screen where you are now able to type
  • Type TM
  • Press ENTER
  • Then close the console by pressing "~" again
  • Your UI (User Interface) should now be gone
    • To re-enable your UI, type TM in the console again using the steps above

How to enable Free-Flying Camera mode:
  • Open the console by pressing the "~" key on your keyboard
    • This key is located next to your "1" key, above your "TAB" key, and usually below your "ESC" key
    • This will bring up the console, you'll notice a place at the bottom left of your screen where you are now able to type
  • Type TFC
  • Press ENTER
  • Then close the console by pressing "~" again
  • You can then move the camera around using the same keys you would normally use to move your character.
    • To go back to normal, type TFC in the console again using the steps above

How to Disable the AI of any Creature/NPC:
  • Open the console by pressing the "~" key on your keyboard
    • This key is located next to your "1" key, above your "TAB" key, and usually below your "ESC" key
    • This will bring up the console, you'll notice a place at the bottom left of your screen where you are now able to type
  • Type TAI
  • Press ENTER
  • Then close the console by pressing "~" again
  • Entering the command while no actor is selected will cause all actors to stand at idle (but still have idle animation).
  • Using while an actor is selected will freeze them in-place.
  • To return to normal, type TAI in the console again, and press enter.

How to remove Collision from your Character (Clipping):
  • Open the console by pressing the "~" key on your keyboard
    • This key is located next to your "1" key, above your "TAB" key, and usually below your "ESC" key
    • This will bring up the console, you'll notice a place at the bottom left of your screen where you are now able to type
  • Type TCL
  • Press ENTER
  • Then close the console by pressing "~" again
  • To return to normal, type TCL in the console again, and press enter

I can't find a thicker fog mod anywhere. Most fog is distant and never surrounding the player.

I wanted scruff, but there are pretty much none to add to just me. I don't want everyone to have moles and stuff.

It's been a while since I last posted something here. I really hate always only enjoying and adoring the great images posted here while not being able to contribute something myself for you to enjoy in return for a change. But lately I actually got some free time to get creative again, so let's change that. Oh, and please forgive me for these not being actual ingame shots but Blender renders. The difference actually isn't that noticable.

http://www.tesnexus.com/imageshare/images/461894-1296262246.jpg (fully armored),
http://www.tesnexus.com/imageshare/images/461894-1296262511.jpg (only light clothes),
http://www.tesnexus.com/imageshare/images/461894-1296635285.jpg (suited for the cold winds above, also wearing his favourite Argonian Goggles from AxelTheDragon again),
Drake just loves this Silverlight Armor from Jojjo it seems... and showing off his scales.

And in case anybody got interested in more now, there's a render scene for a complete show-off hosted at TES Nexus:
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36866 (including lower quality YouTube preview)
(AVI video HD 1920x1080, x264vfw codec)

I hope you enjoy it and it gives back a little of what you gave me all the time by your gorgeous screenshots!

Yeah, some very nice stuff there! I'll take a stab guessing one of 'em. Looks to me as if the nice road textures seen in at least one capture are provided by the no-longer-available AmpolX ATP2 Roads & Cobblestones. They could of course be from the older yet still available ATPv1 (PlanetElderScrolls) but I've no experience with those. I used ATP2 until very recently and still consider it excellent. In the end I find I like the newer AmpolX Oblivion Makeover road textures even better and have switched to them. But don't quote me. Those roads might well be from a totally different source.

The thing that continually amazes me about Oblivion is how after five years I'm still finding things and going to places I've never been. Before today I was never aware of the "Tears of the Savior" quest because I've never had occasion to venture into the Leyawiin Mage's Guild. It's a relatively straightforward quest, decent amount of traveling, but one whole slice of the game I'd never seen before. Kind of amazing.

Here's a few more:

Yeah, some very nice stuff there! I'll take a stab guessing one of 'em. Looks to me as if the nice road textures seen in at least one capture are provided by the no-longer-available AmpolX ATP2 Roads & Cobblestones. They could of course be from the older yet still available ATPv1 (PlanetElderScrolls) but I've no experience with those. I used ATP2 until very recently and still consider it excellent. In the end I find I like the newer AmpolX Oblivion Makeover road textures even better and have switched to them. But don't quote me. Those roads might well be from a totally different source.

Well spotted Sir,it is indeed Roads And Cobblestones V2.

Basically I use a base of QTP3R,then overwrite with the majority of http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=153868 texture packs, then finally use all of Amplox`s V2 texures that I have.I also use the ferns from Vurts Nehrim textures and a selection of water, sky and lava replacers.

Thats a very brief rundown of the replacers I use.one day when I have a bit of time I`ll go through my install and provide links to all the graphic enhancers I use.....its a long list :D

...and hunter 2121,I dont use OBGE V2 as such but a combination of ScreenEffects and ENB,perhaps an old and unsupported system but it works for me.

What mods did you use to get the faces to look so good?

Oho! We seem to have similar tastes in texture replacement. I too use a couple of the miknmel1 "Improved xxxxx" texture replacers, and am particularly fond of his Improved Bruma, which combines well with the ground textures (snow, rocks, cobblestones) from AmpolX Oblivion Makeover. Whatever happened to that anyway? Wasn't it supposed to be re-posted somewhere?

I'm back with another infrequent contribution. This one largely documents landscape and other texture modifications implemented over the past half year. As always, all captures record situations experienced by my avatar during actual game-play.

http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn303/Decrepit_Waste/ESIV%20Oblivion/ImpIslePanorama1.jpg.
The most obvious modification here is http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18497. I consider it a mixed blessing. When everything works, as it does here, the effect can be stunning. But at times “grey areas”, where near and far landscapes transition, can be pug-ugly. Plus, the difference between these and smoother standard-resolution LODs provided by certain other mods can be jarring. Still, for me pluses outweigh minuses. I'll continue to use this until something better comes along.

I complement it with http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18677 from his Vibrant Textures collection, replacing the more peppery http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9952.

Another recent addition is http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14342. It is not my ideal grass, looking a bit too pristine and manicured, like a well tended park lawn. That said, it's not bad at all, and the near total absence of tiling more than compensates.

Also on display are http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20053, road textures from AmpolX Makeover, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=32261, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7694, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9531, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22828, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22751, and even a bit from http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21856 (the watch tower seen atop a distant mountain peak).

http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn303/Decrepit_Waste/ESIV%20Oblivion/ImpIsleSoutnBridgeStation1.jpg.
Captured while running errands for Heneri (Companion Vilja, v3x). Tower and bridge courtesy of Arthmoor's http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20218.

http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn303/Decrepit_Waste/ESIV%20Oblivion/VeronaHouseDecrepit1.jpg.
I'm not totally happy with this capture, one of several taken of the same stance at different times of day. Depending on sun location either my avatar's face washed out as seen here or the house itself looked drab. I never found a happy medium. The house features textures from http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10381. Another mixed blessing as, being out in the open rather than in an enclosed city, they make what tends to be a somewhat laggy area even more so.

http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn303/Decrepit_Waste/ESIV%20Oblivion/DepositingRelics1.jpg. A non-scenic capture depicting my avatar's return of the Crusader's regalia to the Priory of the Nine.

http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn303/Decrepit_Waste/ESIV%20Oblivion/RobeOfLustCountessValga.jpg. Quest-in-progress documentation.

http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn303/Decrepit_Waste/ESIV%20Oblivion/ViljaOutsideSkingrad1.jpg.
Vilja and my decrepit avatar stretch their legs during an Imperial Legion road patrol. Skingrad Castle extension by http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22446.

http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn303/Decrepit_Waste/ESIV%20Oblivion/BlueNebulaLeyawinn1.jpg.
Besides http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19628, this shows something of yet another recent addition, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26700, which I use in conjunction with that old standby http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4135. Nebula provides quite dramatic night skies! Something of an immersionist, my avatar normally spends his evenings abed. Yet the first crystal clear night after installing Nebula Vilja and he ended up riding until dawn, doing little but drinking in the many glorious views.

http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn303/Decrepit_Waste/ESIV%20Oblivion/WeyeVillageScenic1.jpg.
Again featuring road textures by AmpolX roads and ReallyBetterTilingGrass in addition to the usual suspects. Weye Manor remains my favorite Cyrodiil residence, thanks to its several amenities and central location. When needed, the even more elaborate Verona House is little more than a stone's throw away.

http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn303/Decrepit_Waste/ESIV%20Oblivion/FortAkotoshfromImpIsle1_captioned.jpg.
Roadwork again by AmpolX.

http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn303/Decrepit_Waste/ESIV%20Oblivion/BrumaMorning1.jpg.
Features http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8954 and ground textures by AmpolX, as well as hi-res mountains in the background. My favorite city retexture.

Feel free to comment and suggest.
