I have an idea and if you seen the title of this thread you know what it is. While it may not be a good one we can all talk about how the elder scrolls would be like if it was set in 2012 or maybe a date that would fit the lore more correctly. We can all discuss about what tamriel would look like, The current state of the provinces, technology, and how did tamriel end up in a modern style period. Obviously it is unlikely for a ES game to set in modern like times. So let me start.

In the 7th era the provinces of Tamriel is at peace though tensions are still high. Some of the provinces has taken an interest in Dwemer technology. As a result within the next decades technology has started to improve while tamriel is slowly leaving it's old ways. It eventually went to the point where life in the continent is like today. That's a brief start. So lets's all get into more detail if you're interested.
