Modern Warfare vs Crysis

Post » Sat Jan 02, 2010 3:58 am

Probably MW2. Sure, the graphics are rubbish, but it's far more memorable and has a far wider range of environments than Crysis SP (generic forest, generic ice, generic cave, generic flying, Core, Fleet).

As for the MP, I think it says a lot that I haven't played C1 MP for months, and have actually uninstalled the game due to it taking up far too much hard drive space. Despite all the criticisms of MW2, when you do get a decent game it's actually fun. In comparison, Crysis is generally overmodded and not particularly fun anyway.

[quote][quote]I find your comparison mildly offensive.[/quote]

Nah seriously, MW2 was a great experience the first time I played it, but mainly from a cinematic point of view. So was Crysis, but the Gameplay it offered was way superior to MW2. Not to mention the replayability; i can't play MW2/MW a second time. It's just soo boring.[/quote]

Agreed. I played Modern warfare 1 once over and then tried to play it again, did so for 10 minutes and then uninstalled. It just doesn't last. Although I played Crysis and Warhead over and over. 8 times each I think.

Does BB code work on this forum?

i cant believe someone actually asked this - crysis completely dominates modern warfare in every aspect, and crysis is like two years older.
too bad less people play crysis now though, people used to play a lot a while ago.

[quote]oh speaking of C2 gameplay vids, have u seen all the friggin animations they have now?! They've got animations for picking up/grabbing, silent kills, throwing, kicking, punching, sliding, cover and more! AND i even saw one where the guy jumped up to a level and just missed and it did an animation for the character catching the edge and pulling himself up :O seriously u know how many games have cover systems (KZ2) and some have things like sliding (FC2) or CQC moves (FEAR) but NONE have ALL the awesome animations... well guess what? WE GOT IT BIATCH!!! :D I'm SOOOO excited for Crysis 2!!![/quote]
Could u give me the link to those vids please! :)

I agree that from a multiplayer standpoint, that MW2 is slightly better. Crysis Wars is so overmodded that you can never find a good stock game (well, three choices for me, one server with 16 ping on a gamemode I don't play, or a 270 ping on a gamemode I do play, or a 125 ping on my gamemode). If all the Crysis Wars servers were just stock settings with some GOOD custom maps and normal maps as well, it would be a much better experience. MW2 excels at the multiplayer standpoint with Crysis Wars winning the custom map area, but at the Singleplayer standpoint, Crysis Warhead completely blows MW2 out of the water. The sandbox gameplay, desteuctability, and choices you have in Crysis and Crysis Warhead allow for limitless replayability and fun. Crysis Wars also has some pretty kick ass mods they extend the replayability even more. :)

The custom maps, awesome sandbox, and mods is why I prefer Crysis Warhead/Wars over Modern Warfare 2. I just can't stand the stupid settings the servers always change, like 3000p for a vtol, 500% speed, and super jump **** is what ruins the game.

[quote]In my opinion MW2 Multiplayer is much more fun than Crysis Wars. I have never really liked Crysis Wars, it was i litle fun the first 2 days, then I went back to CS and later I bought MW2 after trying CoD4 MP. Since then I have played MW2. Bought BFBC2 a month ago, I don't play it so much because it is not fun playing without having som friends to be in a squad with, but the game is superior to both MW2 and Crysis Wars[/quote]

i agree, and why does everyone hate mw2? it's a very fun game. and the multi player is extremely great!

I think that you can't really compare crysis and the call of duty series, they are good in their own way, but I have to say the call of duty because they offer a co-op gameplay and it's allot more PC friendly than crysis, the call of duty series is also allot better at deliver a good story.

I assume by 'pc friendly' you mean less demanding ?!
Anyway, I'd agree on the coop and on the spec-ops, it's great fun. Damn it, I'm hoping so badly Crysis 2 will have a coop.

Modern Warfare 2, PC friendly? You gotta be kidding me! That is the least PC friendly game I have ever played...

To be honest, I dont care if Crysis 2 has coop. I don't think it is necessary. I would not want it to detract from the Multiplayer.

I'd say Arma2 is the least PC friendly game ever. It brings my computer down to a slide show.

Crysis hands down for single player, but multiplayer is a tie between BFBC2 and COD4, they both different enough (to me) that I cant really say which one is better, but its more what kind of mood I'm in. But MW2 svcked, it could have been good but Activision rushed the development time and we ended up with a broken piece of **** with way too short singleplayer. Then Activsion had to completely **** up and fire two of the top guys at Infinity Ward. **** you Activision, you just shot yourself in the foot by loosing some of the best people in your best partner company, good job.

Yeah, it ate CPU's for breakfast, lunch and dinner :)

Personally, i much preferred Crysis MP over COD4 MP. Didn't really get into COD5 MP but the zombies were fun. Never played COD6, never plan on it.

So many games offer so many different styles of MP entertainment. I loved Crysis' MP for it's complexity and options. Power Struggle is the best :D

The only real reason why MW2 svcked was because of the kids screaming in their mics. I hate it when I was playing with a little kid who thought he was too good. Until the host migration came into play and he swapped into the other team, well let's just say it was great beating the crap outta' him until he left.

But on a serious note though, that is one of the major reasons MW2 failed, the audience was supposed to be aimed at mature players, even though it was aimed at teenagers beforehand.

I guess that's why some players prefer PC, it's like a haven.

The animation when the guy jumps in Crysis 2 starts very choppy... Other animations are great, but i excepted better. The quality of the animations, in some parts, looks worse than in Crysis.

Expect the Crysis 2 animations to be refined and debugged before release. They are all unfinished, like that one stealth kill where Alcatraz has his hand go through the crynet soldier. ;) they will be fixed, dont worry. =)

MW2 is better in someways, in my opinion of course.

In MW2 you have to use your iron sights, get into a stable stance, and squeeze off shots.
In Crysis (multiplayer) everyone jumps around like bloody rabbits, hipfiring on full auto most of the time, and rarely does anyone bother with iron sights or scopes.

MW2 though is admittely inferior in every other way.
