Modern Warfare vs Crysis

Post » Sat Jan 02, 2010 12:27 pm

i have a love/hate relationship with both these games, I specialy dislike when my 100tons gauss tank get destroyed by a light AA that has about 40% the armor and more firepower. Crysis need a better weapon balance.
In MW2, i hate both the server system and those unrealistic dual wield weapon, seiously, i dont think you can hold 2 firing shawn-off shotguns at the same time(unless having a nanosuit!!), or add a silencer to a shotguns that shots pellets not slug.
I hate unbalanced games.... But i love driving tanks and killing a LOT of noobs, huh, i mean people :)
Crysis has a great senario, and mw2 is closer to the average bruce willis movie; lots of action, but no real objective than "kill the bad guy"
In crysis there should be a huge precision penality when jumping not in strenth mode.
MW2 is better in someways, in my opinion of course.

In MW2 you have to use your iron sights, get into a stable stance, and squeeze off shots.
In Crysis (multiplayer) everyone jumps around like bloody rabbits, hipfiring on full auto most of the time, and rarely does anyone bother with iron sights or scopes.

MW2 though is admittely inferior in every other way.
Whaat? I've heard people hipfire spray RPD that is OSOK in hardcoe (Balance failure, as RPD = LMG) in MW2.

MW2 DLC is overpriced garbage, true. But, on the other hand, has Crysis ever had any DLC at all? No.

I'd rather have the opportunity to buy overpriced DLC than no DLC at all.

And go look at all the stuff about ranks and unlocks Crytek a're talking about. It's all straight out of MW2.

Simple:
Crysis: Best MP I have ever played. Graphics are straight up amazing and the people who complain about not having a PC to play it are crazy... I mean come on a $500 PC can play it on high!

MW2: Horrible POS MP.... so horrible words can not describe. The only cod I like is 1 and 2 and CoD 4 Promod.

BFBC2: TERRIBLE MP, Remove tanks, nade launchers, gustav, nade spam, c4, LMGs, mortar strikes, and the knife. And then fix the garbage hit detection. After all of this.. I MIGHT play it.

MW is a awesome series that was made into fodder by Activision.

Yeah, i agree with you there. It is a game that has been neglects inthe areas that count. Since most of their development staff have gone over to Respawn.

I think Crysis 2 has the potential to obliterate MW altogether.

The nanosuit: - Simply the shiznit for any gamer. Crysis 1 and 2

The MP Maps - Very important for a great online experience. Watching the demo of Crysis 2 in the streets of New York made me think how great a multiplayer map that will be as a nice medium size map.

The Guns - The feel of the guns in Crysis are second to none and that is saying something as the feel of the guns in MW2 were very very good indeed.

Just more weapon variety for Crysis 2 while maintaining balance is your winner here.

MW2 lost it's perspective in my opinion. I do think the Spec Ops part of the game is really cool. Just waiting for someone to possibly build on something like this (nudge Crytek).

Oh, did i mention the nanosuit ;D

You sound like a fanboy, I mean Crysis Wars is decent but not THAT good. BC2 and MW both have very polished multiplayer regardless of how consolized you think they might be.

I wouldn't call BFBC2 or MW2 horrible, but I think Wars was better. Still is better.

Crysis takes the cake. A huge, explosive and highly modable cake. Like, with this cake you can make your own icing and choose how many layers you want. Hell, you can completely bury the candles into the cake just because you want to. There is nothing stopping you.

Crysis BY FAR. Wars is the best MP i have ever played, i have spent by far more time on it than any other game ever. You just have to know the right server. Me being lucky in Australia we have a great community where we all are together on a few great aussie servers that cater for everyone.

MW2 on the other hand is HORRID. Its so generic and boring, point, shoot a few bullets dead. I love how in crysis there is strafing, how people are "jumping around like rabbits" as someone said. That is a good thing because it acctually takes SKILL. It takes no skill to point and shoot at pretty much stationary targets, in crysis you acctualy have to have aiming skill and dexterity on the keyboard to strafe as well as you can. Its brilliant!

And of course no dedicated servers on MW2 is its biggest downfall.

Question: If MW2 is as bad as you claim, why is Crytek copying it? Look at these "collector editions" and "nano editions" that come with stuff like backpacks: it's just like MW2 Prestige Edition. As for the MP, all this talk of "unlockable" modules that can be "combined" and rank systems sounds, again, just like MW2.

Who said they were copying MW2? COD was NOT the first game to have those and they sure as hell wont be the last either.

MW2 was not the first to invent a ranking/upgrade system nor was it the first to provide Collectors Edition version of retail products. So in essence, you could say Crytek is copying dozens of other developers with these features, or you could suggest that they're just conforming to what's popular and what people like :)

When a game is released that becomes the best-selling game of all time (and also the most pirated), and then a game by another studio HOPING to become amazingly popular is released which has a lot of similar features and ideas, it's fairly obvious some copying has been done.

The only good thing about MW2 is the unlocks.
That is all.
The rest is HAX and knife-spam and Oscar Mike Tango Foxtrot 23 Delta Delta Echo Foxtrot.
Crysis MP and Wars does it RIGHT. Especially with the KPA commander voiceover.

I actually prefer to play as North Korea simply for that voice acting. The NK one sounds like you are in the middle of a war and you must win this battle, and the US voice acting sounds like he is bored and eating lunch.

Because they are going with the streamline trend following most of the people that think MW2 is awesome. Hey guys look! I can pick a noobtube have no skill at all and clear anything within 10 feet of the blast. I am so awesome at this game!

Look back at Quake, CoD 1 and 2, and even Counter Strike. Those were real games. MW2 is for people like the overwhelming majority today who want everything the easy way. In BC2 all you have to do is hop in a tank and you are instant god. All this 1 hit kill explosive nonsense as well as the knife trend is BS. I am tired of all the people who sit in there tanks or with their noobtubes and then praise the game because of it. You people have driven the quality of games so low...

Collocters editions are now copying MW, hell then every game company is copying them. God of War, Assassins Creed 2, Gears of War 1 and 2, Fallout...oh...some of those came out before MW2. IMO MW 1 was gold ( cept the newb toob but didnt seem as strong) MW2 is just pure poop and I blame activision.

Also on activision, what game company has to give away a game to sell one?.. Singularity you get prototype, Gutair Hero 5 you get Van Halen. Waiting to see whats next, maybe they will bundle a system with a collecters edition, you know since Darklite thinks MW "created collector editions"...

You can't really compare the two. I liked MW2, but Crysis just kinda makes everything else svck after you play it. Which is why all of us are waiting for Crysis 2.

I didn't say that. .The most expensive version of MW2, the "Prestige Edition", came in a metal case, with an art book, a code to unlock a bonus copy of COD1, a pair of night vision goggles to wear, and a model of the main character. Meanwhile, the Crysis 2 Nano Edition has...

...a metal case, an art book, a code to unlock bonus ingame things, a backpack to wear, a model of the main character, some ingame stuff, and a dogtag.

Now, I really don't think it's a coincidence that those are similar. Crytek have seen what a rival company did, copied it, and improved upon it. Nothing wrong with that, but you know what they say: imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If Crytek are taking ideas from a game, that means that said game is successful in their opinion.
