Modern Warfare 3

THIS for all eternity.. :)

After MW2, I truly gave up. I thought there was a FACT that Infinity Ward will NOT be making MW3? Or, did they just change there mind because they know the mindless populus of America LOVES Call of Duky, and will continue to keep buying their games EVERY year for some reason. They should just kill the series entirely, it's too casual for children now.

They had whatever was left of IW working on MW3 so that they could legally slap the developer's logo on the product. I doubt IW was at the helm.

As much as I love playing the COD games, I'll be honest, I'm going to be EYE balls deep into Skyrim. I will have little to no interest for MW3 come november.

Why no Russia? There's a lot of potential in playing the Spetznaz for example(Alpha squad anyone? *drools*)

I am so sick of playing the usual glorified "western rambo".

According to the http://kotaku.com/5801226/the-modern-warfare-3-files-exclusive-first-details-on-the-biggest-game-of-2011, you get to play as a Russian Federal Protective Services agent. That's something at least.

Oh look, there's a level in London. Brace yourself for some terrible 'British' voice acting and a city that stopped looking like that fifty years ago.

You realize that most of the voice actors for the British soldiers ARE British?

Crysis?
Homefront?

Homefront came out after MW2, and I didn't look at Crysis because the system requirements made me too sad lol.

That was more about Crysis 2, the first one doesn't have any battles in the US. And the second one eats much less processing power, while mostly looking just as good. ^_^

As per every other Call of Duty game, I'll wait until it's around €20 used, buy it, play through the campaign, then either sell on on eBay or trade it in against something else.

Agreed, Skyrim along with a bunch of other good titles will probably be distracting me from COD.

Same here. I'll be on a Skyrim binge mixed with some Uncharted 3. Activision's already killed this franchise a anyway. It's been on a steady decline for years with still no innovation in site.

Crysis?
Homefront?

MW2 was the first shooter (I think) to take the fight to the US. Homefront came after MW2, and Crysis doesn't have any fighting in the US (unless you're talking about Crysis 2, which also came out after MW2).

IMO, they're just trying to compete with Battlefield 3 coming out around the same time. The game will probably be rushed and, I hope, fall on it's face. At this point I only wish the death of Activi$ion and their evil ways for killing so many good series. I expect more of the same, with not major advancements, but this crap will still get a lot of attention for no reason. :snoring:

This. I know my friends buy COD but I want the series to absolutely fail (reviews and sales) simply because I want people and the FPS genre itself advance. I mean it literally stopped advancing after MW (probably best COD ever)...I'm almost certain BF3 will be a better game. Unfortunately it will sell less than 1/10 of MW3 :shakehead:

Well, after the last two games, I'll not be buying another. I can't believe people are still falling for this new game every year crap

i never played cod but your absolutely right, if people loved cods multiplayer, they should of stayed with cod4s since 2007 because cods multiplayer has been similar every year since that title. the only reason people should purchase cod every year, is if they enjoy its campaign story

And to think they did not listen to any of the complaints from MW 2 about jumping all over the world like rabbits on crack. Russian military mobilizes their armed forces and invades both coasts in ONE DAY.

This, the Russians or anybody really dont have this much power to attack the entire freaking world.

Anywhoo lets hope its good.

Too bad out of all the game everyone's bringing up, CoD has the absolute best offline multiplayer. [[Bar Black Ops and World at War, 'cause those two svck.]]

I mean, modern warfare had it restricted to classes, but it was still fun and could manage four player multi. Modern Warfare 2? Allowed the same exact level of customization and playability offline as online. And the operations co-op mode. So, I'm getting Modern Warfare 3, just for some more of the excellent offline multi/co-op with my friends.

This is actually probably the best thing that I remember from MW2

So far MW3 looks more appealing to me than BF3. I really need some detailed info on multiplayer for both though before I can make a decision.

yeah this pretty much.

COD aint even that good of a FPS... totally bland, soulless and shallow. Not to mention a total propaganda machine. Remember the first mission in MW2? nice of them not to include US airstrikes blowing up innocent civilians.

Agreed. I'll just post what I said on the Escapist:

The reason I dislike Call of Duty isn't because of it's gameplay, story, or even graphics. I dislike CoD because of it's business model. Releasing a short campaign paired with a practically identical multiplayer is down right criminal in my opinion, and I hate how consumers enable Activision by repeatedly purchasing the same game.

Because of the success of CoD, other developers are taking on this mindset of quantity over quality - yearly, sub par releases to bring in large amounts of money. All you have to do is look at Dragon Age 2 and how rushed it was to see an example of this.

Duty Calls is pretty much what I thought of MW2, actually.
