"Where is that SOUL GEM?" Bellowed Arch-Mage Traven, at any of the mages who were running around frantically.
"Sir, it's already in position, but we need to hurry, the Stars will align soon."
"Well, hurry up then!"
Hundreds of the World's finest mages ran around, collecting data, putting items in thier correct positions. None of them dare tread on the circle. The circle was in the middle of the room, various magical items arranged perfectly inside.
They say it is the greatest magical breakthrough in the history of Nirn.
It began when an Astronomer was studying the stars, and found out they were to be alligned. He reported his findings to the Mages' Guild, and it was noticed. The stars alligning is much like a "Meteor Shower" of our time, except it has to do with the stars of birthsigns, and magical properties.
A great Dunmer Philosopher found out about this, and began to do some research. Through many studies, he found out that if a certain ritual was done, it could rip apart the fabric of space and time, creating a link between two realms. As much as it was dangerous, it also sparked the Mages to begin something called The Collision Project, where the Ritual would be made, and two realms would collide.
And that was the chaos that lay before Arch-Mage Traven, The Collision Project just hours before the stars were alligned. Mages were scattered everywhere, and they were all doing something of importance.
Using an item from each Divine, and from each Daedric Prince, along with the stars, enough power could be redirected to rip apart thier reality...
"Get the bloody hourglass in place! Who's the fool who knocked it over?!"
After many more hours of yelling...
"Everyone, get back, we may not know what will happen. When can we put the Sigil Stone in?"
"Right now." A Mage replied as he ran out, careful not to knock anything over, and put the delicate Sigil Stone in place, right before the Stars Alligned.
All mages waited curiously, waiting, staring. No sound could be heard, and nothing could be smelled. It was completely still..
"10 seconds until the Allignement", a Sorcerer said.

Nothing happened. Distraught looks befell upon each and every one of them. Looks of failure and sadness, madness and defeat.
Then the room erupted into an orange light, all the items in the circle being svcked into the vortex. It began to change colours wildly, and many mages began to lift off the ground. The Vortex svcked in every sound, every color, everything. The Mages took many steps back as the Portal grew in size.
It then erupted into a brilliant white, and collapsed upon itself and dissapeared. White smoke filled the area, and a sillouhette could be seen against the cloud.
The Mages gasped as the sillouhette grew darker, and began to run toward them...
