How do I modify a repair list so that I can use scrap metal to repair a pistol, for example?

in the objects window open the miscellaneous option then the "form list" option, and all the ones starting in repair are the repair lists(type repair in the filter to make it easier on your self) then select the one you want then just drag the item into the list and you are all set.
