Mods and Achievements? Steam

Post » Sun Aug 08, 2010 9:24 am

I have enabled some interface mods but i reached 20lv and the 20lv achievement didn't unlock.
I never used console or whatever so why?
Most achievements worked so far.

It was probably just Steam bugging out. Have you levelled up again since? You may get it next time.

When you open the dev console, it disables steam achievements. I guess because it's cheating or whatever.

Actually it doesn't work like that.

I was "farming" Caravan Master, the second-to-last achievement on my list, for about a hour or so. So I get up to 30, no achievement, so I quicksave... silly mistake. That basically made me do the games all over again.. which was about 17 wins. This is because I opened the console before I started playing. Even if you reload the game, and do another win / level / etc... the achievement is only registers if you got it then and there, not afterwards. I.E. Caravan Master didn't appear after I restarted the game and got my 31th win.

Edit: @OP: Your best bet is to reload a save before level 20, and level up again. You probably hit a bad time to be disconnected for a moment.

So even if you accidently hit the tild key, which I do sometimes this will disable achievements?

Get the mod that give all achievements, (or console command if its like Fallout 3) and be done with those stupid pointless digital credits that do nothing.

But I like these stupid pointless digital credits.

So I guess I'll just save and reload when I accidently hit the console instead of the pipboy.

Nope, you need to restart the game if I recall correctly.

The question I was asking was only to do with accidentally activating the console then closing it again without typing anything and continuing to play. It's been stated in other threads that it is sufficient to save and reload your game to continue getting achievements. There is a possibility of course your not being serious but who's to tell.

ive always heard that you had to actually restart the game and i even saw someoen post that you had to restart the steam client itself. i dont care about achievement but it would have been nice to include an option that disables the developer console like valve games did.

Well there is a line in the ini file you can change.

bAllowConsole=1

If you change it to

bAllowConsole=0

Then the console shouldn't pop up anymore, if you're afraid that you might hit it accidentally.
