Can it be done? I dont know anything about programming but can someone use the cryengine to make another game? Ive seen nanosuits in Skyrim and stuff like that, but can anyone make like dayz mods and badass creative games? JW if you wanna comment that would be much appreciated.
Yes you can. The engine Crysis 2/3 is built on (CryEngine 3) has its own free software development kit, of which people are free to create their own games, even sell them if they get a license from Crytek.
Head over to crydev.net, you'll find a ton of zombie related projects on the forums created in CryEngine, some even featured on the homepage news.
As for modding Crysis 3, we have a thing called the 'Crysis Sandbox Editor', it's basically identical to the CryEngine 3 SDK, just built to work with whatever Crysis game it is built for. The one for Crysis 3 has not been released yet. I doubt you would be able mod Crysis 3 into a DayZ style game, as you would have to edit multiplayer code, of which you cannot do in the Crysis sandbox (the sandbox is normally used for custom multiplayer levels and weapon mods, not entire game mods). You would be far better off making a game from scratch in the CE3 SDK, like most people are doing.
