Hey folks. After having MW GOTY Edition gathering dust on a shelf for years I finally have decided to give it a proper try. I'm not wanting to change any mechanics of the game since I've never played it before, but I would like the best visual quality available at this time for both landscapes (first and foremost) and character models (secondarily - nice, but not as important as landscapes). I've been a fairly heavy mod user for Oblivion and Fallout 3, so I can get most anything installed and working. Basically I'm looking for a quick-and-dirty list of graphics improvements/replacers that most people tend to use now.

I know there are tons of lists and sites with mod suggestions, but being I'm a neophyte with this game I don't want to fight with tracking down most current version, deal with dead links and excessive conflicts. From the looks of things the MGE seems the landscape mod of choice. Are there other mods/replacers that compliment it, or is it best to use it on its own? Thanks in advance for your help - I really do appreciate the suggestions.

edit: Mge isn't really a landscape mod, it's a graphics update. I use Connary's and Darknut's textures along with Leeloo's npcs and better bodies.

Ah, thank you! I'm really looking for a "core" group of compatible mods for visual quality that most current experienced players would start a fresh install of the game with. I'll give this a good read. Thanks again.

Thanks again for taking time to post guys, I'll give all those a look. Can't wait to start a new game this weekend - should have it really to roll tomorrow. After playing Oblivion and FO3 to death since 2006 I've come to the conclusion I only like Bethesda games...and Morrowind is the one left I haven't tried.
