Mods for console, what do you wish for?

Post » Sat Feb 06, 2016 9:54 pm

Hey Bethesda.

I am make a thread for what people want for mods to console. I am not a big mod fan my self, but some of the mods i have seen is interesting. I personaly wish increase building possibility in settlements, the mod for more different items to build in your settelsments, more type of wall, roof, electric, furniture and so on. The last one would be 4 season mod (winter, spring, authum and summer). I am more for the visuals mods and items, not so much for example automatic Big boy or overpowered items and ammo.

Hope some of these mods can join future DLC`s.

For the DLC pole i voted for exploring (in new areas).

If I were to put options in order, I had chose:

1. Exploring

2. Building

3. MQ

4. Sidequest

Have a great weekend everyone. :)

Guns, quests, new areas, new interiors to boarded up buildings/areas would be cool

Some of the none gameplay changing improvements would be nice such as the 'better roads on pipboy' or 'lowered gun when not aiming' will do for a start.

Everything that's on PC.

"But... that's not possible/not going to happen!"

We won't know until we try, that's how we find the limits the game (on consoles) can handle.

Regarding censorship, particularly in the US, well, we already have other AAA games with advlt-rated content in them, but somehow when it's made by a modder, it's wrong? Seems a bit hypocritical imo.

I'm guessing that consoles are going to get the majority of the same mods that PCs will get. There are some that they'll almost definitely never get. Anything with a copyright will be off limits, so no Iron Man power armor or mods to turn Paladin Danse into Buzz Lightyear. nvde mods will almost definitely be out of bounds. The game isn't rated for nudity, and I can't see Microsoft or Sony allowing them onto their consoles on a game that wasn't originally rated for it. There may be some bigger mods later on that consoles won't be able to run. Some of the larger overhauls may get too complex for consoles to manage (as well as for many PCs). Mods that involve cell edits, like Spring Cleaning or mods meant to restore the Sanctuary houses may be tricky too. Most of those mods are still in their infancy though, and they'll be improving a lot once the creation kit is out. Heavy graphical mods may be difficult too. True Storms, for example makes some huge improvements on the weather in the game. Storms look like real storms and wet surfaces actually look real. Rad storms are way more intense, fog is way more realistic...and it's all really graphically demanding. I tried running it myself, and I had to uninstall it because I don't have a powerful enough computer for all the mods I'd like to use. Time will tell, but I'm sure console people are going to have a pretty great selection of mods. As far as outfit, armor, and weapon retextures and new standalones and stuff like that, I'm sure you'll get tons of them. I'm sure you'll be able to get new quests and such as well.

I'm not expecting the same mods as PC. But basic stuff like ammo crafting, more gun( from previous Fallouts), armor, maybe add ammo types and change the dialogue wheel so I know what I'm picking.

Anything hothtrooper44 does... Anything Arthmoor and his crew make... Chesko's possible equivalent to Frostfall (if he does one)... Those cool drawbridges and elevators people are making.

Can't freaking wait!

Exactly, I think console players are going to be in for a rude awaking with regards to mods. Texture overhauls and things of that nature are going to be out, I can imagine such staples as NMC's or Ojo'Bueno High Res packs bringing consoles to there knees lol. But I can see them going in the other direction with regards to texture overhauls of a lesser quality to maybe get a few more frames. Sometimes gameplay must trump pretty graphics. I think the problem is going to be and this is MO only here, are modders really going to even care to develop for 3 different platforms no matter how similar they are in architecture?

If I was a modder (I've tried my hand but it's not my joy) and I made a mod and It's working flawlessly on the PC but has this issue with Xbox One and a different issue with PS4 what will I do? "Sorry consoles the mod doesn't work for you properly and I don't have the time to fix you you're SOL"

I think that will be commonplace, especially when it comes to the bigger modders with large projects. Again just MO and we'll have to wait till GECK arrives.

Ability to create ammo.

Ability to plant hubflowers and tarberries in settlements. Oh and that blood...rootflowerthingy too.

Add Ballistic Weave to EVERY clothing item that does not allow layered armor (Brotherhood Fatigues, for instance).

Some kind of option to send Minutemen to handle/resolve/complete those settlement radiant quests. You know, to actually allow me to be a general and delegate and give orders and stuff.

Swap legendary effects between gear. I really like that Luck +2 bonus on that otherwise PIECE OF CRAP synth right arm -- let me put it on my regular heavy combat armor right arm instead. Not talking about stacking effects, just swapping them.

I want to be able to send Jun and Mama Murphy anywhere else in the Commonwealth.

Being able to run a provisioner to Home Plate in Diamond City would be nice too.

And any new options for settlement locations... I'd love more of those.

Well, I'd like some more side-quests, but that would be in the realm of DLC. For mods, I don't need anything special, just superficial things like being able to dress Danse in any clothes I want like most of the companions can. :P

I'd settle for the ability to patch the holes in the walls/roofs of existing settlement structures. And with that, the ability to board up broken windows or scavenge glass for them.

I just want the ability to remove the compass.

Never understood why a game that prides itself on it's open world exploration destroys that by creating a compass that shows you where and what things are before you can see them.

Since consoles don't have any way to cheat, I would like a modder to put containers around the wasteland that contains large amounts of building materials for settlements and crafting materials for guns and armor mods. That would make me very happy :)

My list:

1. More than one companion.. ex: Strong and Codsworth

2. Scrap -EVERYTHING- Dirt , trash, hanging hoses, half broken houses.. Everything!. Allow me to move the workshop where I want it!

3. Better controls. -No turning light on and off to get into inventory. --Deathclaw charging you.. hurry to press to open inventory, instead your light comes on??!!

No pressing for half an hour to get into workshop.

4. Better borders for settlements. Allowing for nearby water when it is there.. Example : Croup Manor.. Surrounded by water and yet...

5. Allow for lamps on tables, plants too. Allow to make the lit lanterns and campfires.

6. DLC for Strong to find his Milk!

7. Allow to create -everything- in the craptastic house in Diamond city. Not just furniture and workstations!

That's all I can think of for now.

-edit-

Some sort of tilde for us.. You have your god mode . I want something too. I want to build infinitely just like you can.

id be happy with

proper weights & calibers for guns, better looking guns and more variety (M16 please)

more ammo types, both calibers and projectile types

proper unique variants of the weapons (with a different look!!)

the ability to disable legendary gear (keeping legendary creatures though)

ballistic weave apply-able to all clothing and hats (including my favourite the army helmet)

better looking armours, combat and reillys from FO3 and all the ranger/riot armour from NV

settlements completely over hauled

better settler management

better building interface

able to scrap anything in the settlements and the ability to clean stuff up and fix up

ability to level terrain a bit (but if building placement is improved might not be needed, such as how frustrating it is to build fences)

ability to reset perks

edit: dammit i forgot to say the ability to swing the camera around whilst aiming, i filled up all my savegame slots in NV very quickly with screenshots of these lol

I want someting in the line of the Unofficial Patch line of mods. Ya know, the ones that fix 99% of the bugs in the game years before Bethesda does.

1. Being able to adjust the general re-spawn rates. A slider option for 2 in-game days to 14 in-game days seems reasonable.

2. Being able to adjust what general type of enemies spawn at different locations. "I wiped out the gunners here last week, but some super mutants moved in while I was away."

3. More building interiors. I want to know who was so an*l-retentive after the Great War to go around boarding up all those buildings.

4. More build options for settlements. Not just decorations, but cleaner walls, floors, ceilings. Windows would be nice, too.

5. Being able to clean up plant life and garbage in settlements. With all the tools I've collected, my 18+ settlers in Sanctuary Hills should be able to clean the street or cut the grass.

6. A few more base weapons. I like the ones in game, but I think having only one or two of a type of weapon is a bit thin on customization of play-style.

7. Being able to find my provisioners. As the game progresses, I'd like to give them better equipment, but finding them on some routes is a royal pain.

8. More settlements. There are a handful of areas I've found that look perfect for a settlement, and I was honestly surprised when I couldn't find a workbench in them.

9. Expanding the borders on a few of the settlements. A few of them are near water, but for some reason the border is two feet from it.

10. Increasing the amount of materials acquired from shipments. I don't mind paying more, but I'd like to get more materials from each.

I'd really like to see a return to the weapons that the series has always maintained, such as the FN FAL, Pancor Jackhammer, Sniper Rifle, Hk G11, Pancor Jackhammer... These weapons have been staples of the series, and it really bums me out that they have gone in this new direction! The assault rifle is now a BFG and the Combat Rifle is the new assault rifle chambered in .45? The inclusion of real world weapons made special weapons like the alien blaster and energy weapons feel even more special. And how about a Vault that I can turn into a settlement? Doesn't that just seem too obvious? I'm guessing Bethy has that planned for dlc... I'd love to see some inclusion of the Desert Rangers via a Mod, and even more awesome would be if the mod were done by inXile! That would be beautiful. Bryan Fargo, are you reading this? How about a kickstart campaign for the modding effort?

As far as gameplay enhancements, let me move my workstation! I'd like some variety in furniture and a TV that doesn't make my water and food disappear! Oh, and a teleporter to transport all those lost legendary vendors to my settlement! Or a radio to call any specific companion or settler to get off the roof and come to me rather than calling everyone to dinner with a bell! " Dogmeat, have you wandered back to Red Rocket again??? Come here boy!" and "Curie, what's so damn interesting about Vault 81? Get back here on the double sweet [censored]!" An apparel dye station would be cool. I'm gonna dye Preston's hat pink if he doesn't stop making eyes at me! I won't judge, but I'm just not into that interracial cowboy homo kinda love, bro!

I would like to see:

Ammo crafting,

Ammo types (armor piercing rounds, incendiary rounds, etc.),

EVERY clothing item can be improved with Ballistic Weave,

More guns that are visually similar to real life guns and/or gun reskins,

Clothing customization (swap tops/bottoms, change colors, etc.),

More character face and body customization options,

Better AI path-finding,

Better AI aiming,

Companions have infinite ammo with the weapon you gave them.

I look forward to what the modding community will come up with in the next few years.
