PC Mods for Consoles

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 1:46 am

never happen. they would have to thoroughly test each mod to make sure that it doesnt contain any bugs. on top of that we have all seen how quickly mods get changed and updated especially at the beginning so consoles would forever be using "beta" versions. furthermore many mods interact with each other and you would then have to use the mod patches and those are constantly being updated as well. i just dont see them doing this for free.

From a post I made in another thread on another site:

I think that this would be awesome...it would increase the community size many times over. It would first increase the number of people playing mods, then it will increase the number of actual modders because some of them might never have played a mod before (being exclusive console gamers, and I know several myself) and they might like to make some mods of their own.

I think it would really change the community big time, and in a good way. I really hope Bethesda manages to pull it off. It is a wonderful Idea IMO

Whether this happens or not, it doesn't influence my decision to get the PC version. There won't be a Skyrim Mod Manager on the consoles, nor will there be a Skyrim Script Extender, nor will Microsoft or Sony allow half the mods out there now.

Content mods would work on a console, but until you buy a good PC you can't expect anything too graphical. Consoles are like good PC's from 3 years ago graphics wise.

Didn't the mods said already that such posts weren't allowed to be discussed?

I don't exactly see that happening the way we'd like it to. M$ will surely pin a price to the imports. Shame, really.
