Mods mods mods - looking for them!

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 5:47 am

Hey people i have a couple of questions to those who are more into the modding scene than i am...

Basically I'm looking for a couple of mods for Crysis 2:

1. Difficulty Mod - Basically something to make PHW seem like EASY... Like the super hard evil death difficulty mod for Dragon Age: Origins

2. Singleplayer Mod- get rid of your gun - enemies ignore you - invincibility - no HUD mod - im trying to make a custom C2 trailer and it is really painful with enemies attacking me - basically i can't show off anything without cloak and then the stupid HUD gets in the way >:(

Thank you in advance!

Er.... there... are no mods for Crysis 2...

....? And I doubt the autoexec.cfg could control the enemies. You might be able to get rid of the HUD though.

I guess you could decompile the .pak's and edit the HUD files to make them clear, but that would take a lot of effort.

You can indeed disable the HUD. It's a cvar that you put in the autoexec file. I forgot what the command is though.

Wanna play hard mode?

-dont use armor mode never (except when you need it for mandatory big falls)
-disable any suit modules
-use weapons you are carrying until you run out of ammo, no changing
-no nanovisor/tactical visor
-no modifing guns with custom attachments

Extra dificulty

-don't use cloak
-never reload, you will need to pick up a new gun everytime
-pistols only

Playing this way is fun and challenging, though you might sometimes just go cloak and run away, i've done that a lot

1. Difficulty Mod - Basically something to make PHW seem like EASY... Like the super hard evil death difficulty mod for Dragon Age: Origins
This has been done already a time or two for C1, there should be no problem for C2. I'm sure there will be one for C2 ~1month afrer SDK release.
2. Singleplayer Mod- get rid of your gun - enemies ignore you - invincibility - no HUD mod - im trying to make a custom C2 trailer and it is really painful with enemies attacking me - basically i can't show off anything without cloak and then the stupid HUD gets in the way. This can all be done in 4 CVars in C1, if we get console for C2 - you're ready!

I wouldn't do it if I was you. First, you're breaching EULA by modifying the game. Second, when you try to modify files inside the .pak, I mean not through adding a new directory, you may break the .pak, so the game won't run.

Pretty much the SDK is just not set up with the crysis PAK files and such, and has a "generic" output folder, Meaning anything you create will be a new game type "similar" to crysis (since it's the ce3) So if you want to have Pink bunnies hopping around throwing eggs you can.

The Editor version will be set up with all the game files and output folders.....lol

(just posted this for the few that read yours and went "Huh?".....)

People mod games because they will get bored playing the same game over and over. Look at games like Half Life or even GTA.
