Mods that create other provinces.

There are several huge mods out there that seek to build the rest of Tamriel in either Oblivion or Morrowind. Tamriel Rebuilt is probably the most well-known, as they are recreating Vvardenfell and the mainland of Morrowind, but other mods such as Hammerfell (originally part of TR), Elsewyr, and Valenwood for Oblivion are pretty amazing as well.
The ones I've seen for Morrowind are really nice as well; mainland Morrowind (as part of TR), Cyrodiil, and Black Marsh. There might be others, but I haven't seen any.

Eventually, maybe the whole of Tamriel could be created in both games! I do wonder though, if it really happened, which game would you prefer to play? Would you rather play through all of Tamriel in TES III or IV? And why would you prefer said game?

Also, do you think the foundations from which these mods were made could be brought together in TES V? Just how big a recreation do you think such a united community could make?
And how quickly do you think they'd jump on it? I've heard that Tamriel Rebuilt started their planning on rebuilding Morrowind for Oblivion years before it even came out.

And how do you think Bethesda would feel about it? Would they more likely be proud or resentful?

I move that you move this to the mod forums as they have more experience in this sort of thing, i'd say that whether TES 3 or 4, the amount of work being put in to recreate other provinces is astounding, a good old pat on the back is deserved for everyone who made these mods. I think beth are probably pretty happy about modders learning to use their tools so well, not only can beth be inspired from the work of these modders, beth can find out exactly how we, as players want the game, what are the most important things in a province that attract players to it.

Sounds fair enough. I just figured them to be rather specific on the subjects of Oblivion and Morrowind mods, rather than mods and modding communities for the series in whole.

But yeah, I'm sure as soon as TES V is officially announced, a team will be on that like flies on pie. Of course, it'll be a bit hard to actually do anything until it comes out. Perhaps like houses, furniture, and foliage and such. 'course, that's what most of the hard content is anyway. After that all it would take is assembly with heightmaps and terrain, AI pathways, NPCs, and dialogue/quests.

Whether this gets moved or not, the only continent mod that I have seen make any significant progress was Elseweyr, and if you have the patience for the install then it is really rewarding. There weren't any quests last time I checked but there is an elephant mount you can get, as well as several of the major towns and landmarks, zebras and bengal tigers to hunt, and the deserts and plains are really well-done. A bit sparse, but then you can't expect it to be Cyrodiil-quality with so few people working on it, at least not yet, hehe.

So, there is a mod for Oblivion that adds Vvardenfell to the game? 0.o
Is it actually like..legit? As in, it's actually the island of Vvardenfell?

There have been a few. SoVvM had the filled land but most of the assets weren't unique and I don't know if it had quests (or a main questline). Phitt's Sheogorad mod probably made the most progress with new assets and custom content but they're only working on the northern parts of the land.

While I can't play it on my Rusted Iron Vista, I have heard really great things about it. From what I've seen on Youtube, it looks like they have great attention to "the whole" rather than the little bits and pieces.

Yeah I've played the Deserts of Aquina (Elsweyr). Theres haeps of new content addded, such as clothes, armour, races, beasts, kijiit in thier many forms, towns, cities, mounts, weapons, and theyre all done pretty well. but of course, since most of it is a desert, theres not to much to see when you leave the cities. theres a couple of quests but theyre not too involving. But its done well.

Ah, I got confused between two projects and thought Tamriel Rebuilt did that one, but they've only done 1/3rd of mainland Morrowind (publicly) so far. A lot more has been worked on though.
I remember now that the Morroblivion (Vvardenfell) project I was thinking of was no longer permitted to be worked on in Bethesda's forums, but the project is still going elsewhere.
Here's one video that's pretty nice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1nZDWh_uHM

Why would you be hesitant to post a mod? And I thought this ran off OB's engine? Why would you need Morrowind expansion packs?

Morroblivion is illegal and is a forbidden topic on these forums, isn't it?
