Mods that never came to pass

There was a mod called Village on the Cliffs that was never finished. Don't remember who the author was, but just the concept of it made me drool.

Never played Portal?!?!?!

"I'd just like to point out that you were given every opportunity to succeed. There was even going to be a party for you. A big party that all your friends were invited to. I invited your best friend the Companion Cube. Of course, he couldn't come because you murdered him. All your other friends couldn't come either because you don't have any other friends. Because of how unlikeable you are. It says so here in your personnel file: Unlikeable. Liked by no one. A bitter, unlikeable loner whose passing shall not be mourned. 'Shall not be mourned.' That's exactly what it says. Very formal. Very official. It also says you were adopted. So that's funny, too."

You're missing out, man. I highly recommend it. It's only like 10$ now and it is the best 10$ you will ever spend on a game.

I'll second the above. It's a really simple game, not at all like you'd think a game 'should' be, I never thought it would be any good, couldn't see what the fuss was. But it's so well made, the simplicity and everything is perfectly balanced and it just draws you in.

Plus, it has a really neat credits song. :)

And while it wasn't technically a mod:
GameMods.info  [...snip...] While I can't say it for certain, as it was not my mod, I believe it will never be finished. :sadvaultboy:

I smiled when I saw this. :)
Never assume something is dead before the person working on it says it is. Sometimes RL just gets in the way!

I have to hand it to you, you were the most dedicated fan of this project! If you are still around Dudish, I sure could use your help.

Waalx Animals and Creatures
Although the current version is stable, it's still classified as an alpha version and has only been released to forum members, nowhere else
Waalx hasn't posted in a while. Hope he continues it one day

AFAIK, Waalx is still hard at work. I don't believe that there is any reason to think this project is abandoned.

I don't think the resources were every released either :/

Holy crap! I've never seen that before...it's beautiful! A shame it was never released.

It makes me want to go on vacation.

I once had a dream of re-voicing all NPC's. Now, we have like six or eight vanilla speakers. We all know it's kinda boring after a while. My dream was to have ordinary community people, friends, relatives, whomever basically lending his/her voice to only one NPC to add variety, variety, variety. Well, it's still a dream but a pretty buried one... Logistics, scope and ambition are probably too big, I know.

There was a WIP by http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showuser=88066 that should have replaced all Dunmer voices with something more like Morrowind.

...ARES, NifScript v1.0, and Magickal Arsenal.

Of course, "never" here means "have not yet", not "never ever".

Yeah, the mod made by Syclonix. BRAINS. Together with Finders Keepers. He had issues in his personal life, so he wasn't able to finish the mod. He did release the stuff that he had made already though, for some modder to maybe finish one day.

There are at least two or three mods around that add attractive areas with plenty of display cases and mannequin stands, that go to portals created outside every buyable house. But although I heard someone was working on adding them to various modded houses, that never showed up. So that's my contribution for the big one that got away!
