Mods that work with Nehrim

Post » Thu Dec 02, 2010 8:49 am

So far I have discovered:

OBSE and some plugins (OSR and Enhanced Music Control tested so far) work fine. Just dump everything in the Nehrim directory and start from the obse loader.

A takes all works (has no master - in theory mods with no master should work fine)

Drop Lit Torch OBSE works (need to change master to Nehrim.esm in Wrye Bash)

STHotkeys works (no master)

Hotkey Casting works (change master)

I'm also using Nehrim Camera Mod which you can find on the Nexus.

I'm assuming HGEC and associated texture packs would work okay? What about sky/nightsky textures?

if its a stock model or texture replacer i dont see why not either... same with scripting, if a mods pure script like FormID Finder, add nehrim as a master and remove oblivion.esm as a master and it should work. i think :P

It depends if Nehrim uses the vanilla assets or not in each case - a process of elimination is probably required as far as replacers are concerned. Any info on this should be added here too. As far as body replacers I imagine that's simple enough, but not in the case of any clothes or armor added by the mod. I'm sure it'll get the HGEC/Robert's male treatment at some point :)

edit. ninja'd.

We should also add stuff that doesn't work.

Togglable Quantity Prompt doesn't work (even after changing masters).

Oblivion mod manager works, along with body replacers and armor replacers... as well as OBSE.

I haven't checked this yet, so take it for what it's worth, but I see no reason Streamline wouldn't also work if you change the master to Nehrim.esm.

Depending on how assets are organized, AWLS should work too. Same deal on the plugin, just change masters on it, but AWLS can also run without the plugin.

I have tried it, I changed the .esm and made sure everything in the .ini pointed to the new folders. But in game the menu will not show up, and streamline is forever attempting to initialize.
Many things I can do.. but editing scripts to much is not one of them, if we could get streamline going I think it would be a blessing to those who dont have nice computers... and those like myself who run on high settings when they can.

OSR would probably do more for that than Streamline, but it would be nice. I'll poke around with it a bit when I get around to installing Nehrim and see. If it's just changing folder names that should be easy enough to do. The question at that point is would there be any issue with permission on releasing a Nehrim-compatible version of it.

So just install OBMM intomthe Nehrim folder?

Will this be a discreet and separate OBMM for Nehrim? I mean I know they share the same ini and all that other stuff I posted in the main thread, but then do you have a separate OBMM for regular oblivion.

If so do they affect each other?

OBGE doesn't appear to work right now, but I'm pretty sure that's probably something that could be fixed, I think it's just looking for the oblivion esm

Apparently it *does* work but the support plugin does not. You'll need to do it manually with the shaders list.

Edit again: Well, it's supposed to work, but I still can't manage to get it working. Installed OBSE then OBGE, added the shaders to the shaderlist.text file but none of the shaders work for me..anyone know what I could be doing wrong?

Any mod that just adds on stuff can be easily converted. Took only a few minutes to make a Nehrim version of Fast Equipping. Pretty much any mod that just adds scripts and doesnt edit vanilla can be switched over simply via changing the master.

I've found some fungus have harvest flora - I suspect the early parts of the game (the mine) had none and as time went on they thought it a good idea for some to have it. You can see a lot of what was considered common mod practice 3 years ago in this - like they were locked in a mine all this time and missed all the mods of the last few years.

I hear you about Darn UI - even darn Dark.

But news you will all like! Yes got OBMM installed and gave it a Nehrim icon - it is completely separate (like I doubted) ... wait there is more!

Created my first omod for hotkeys alone that contains:
STHotkeys
QZEasyMenus - get the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23404 which has a takes all option.
DropLitTorchesOBSE
Fast Equipping Nehrim
Nehrim Bash Tweaks

That last one though was my little breakthrough - taking the advice of the OP I made a very simple bashed patch only importing clothing and camera tweaks then used Gecko to reassign the master as Nehrim.esm - and it worked.

As much as I thought the Nehrim camera mod was OK it just wasn't what bash was giving me.

Now to slowly test and think about other Bash tweaks that may port.

ahh now the game is feeling more comfortable ... oh yeah all those mods and the ported bash tweaks work!

[edit] also I cannot get the OBMM to launch the game much less obse loader - even after hard setting the command line. Not a real problem, but notable.

For whatever reason, I am also unable to get obse to run. Steam version, followed the directions as usual, but no obse loading.

How are you guys getting OBMM Extended to work?
I dropped the manual install version into Nehrim's folder and it asks for "Oblivion_default ini".
The OBMM Extended Launcher won't even fire, says ESPM hider has stopped working.

Try copy Oblivion_default.ini from your Oblivion folder to your Nehrim folder and see if that helps.

Yup, that got it going. I was afraid to do that in case it would screw up my Nehrim .ini somehow.

I got Enyala's and IFT, face textures to work in game using OBMM's Archive Invalidation utility, so it looks like texture replacers will be no big deal.

Also tried out Streamline after using TES GECKO to change master to Nehrim ESM but got same result as everyone else, in console you can see it trying to initialize but never does.

Works great but...if you speak to anyone then the dialog window zooms off to the side and you cant see the person you're talking too or anything. I checked the thread and our German cousins are having the same issue and no fix posted as yet. If you don't mind that issue the the 3rd person is great otherwise.
