It was a typo I obviously meant 2..

And Fallout 3 on PC and Fallout 3 on Xbox360 are vastly different games once you add a dozen or so mods.

Now it makes sense. :foodndrink:

Any else feel that sometimes modders seem like they can be better game developers or at least better BETA testers compared to hiring random gamers from the street. Higher a hardcoe gamer with experience with modding.. sounds sweet

I would really recommend buying the PC version.. I've played Fallout3 on PS3 for about 80h and then played the Game-Of-The-Year-Edition on PC.. It's just awesome how incredibly different the graphic can look like! :) I don't want to miss 1080x1920px resolution and anti-aliasing anymore!

Conclusion: I directly bought New Vegas for PC ;)

It's now 211 years since the bombs dropped, the Earth would start to recover.

blue sky would not be out of the question

Yeah that mod is basically if you want a realistic look of what a apocalyptic wasteland would look like. Fallout 3's green tint and New Vegas' Urine yellow tint are what you might see if you were outside maybe 2 years after the bombs fell, not 200.

Hey TC, I hope you realized that this topic has caused me to decide I am returning my 360 version of New Vegas and getting the PC version AND I'm going to start saving for a new gaming laptop(a really expensive one too) because I just remembered how much better video games are on the PC.

204.

Anyway, I checked over the house selections (On the F:NV Nexus obviously) and saw no vaults so I'm gonna install the G.E.C.K. and get a crackin'

You know what is questionable? 1960's styled hardtop all metal clunky junk cars in the future!!! N1ggas got plasma guns and robots but no one was smart enough or cared to make new cars or a floating hoverboard from back to the future?!?!?!?! Where are all the car fanatics in this world ><

The whole feel of FO is based on the cold war era fears of nuclear war - 'duck and cover'. 40s/50s music on the radio? 50s cars? 50s interior design? Cartoon propaganda posters? It's all there for a reason, to create a unique game atmosphere. This isn't real life in the future, it's Fallout.

For all we know there could have been hoverboards and they were just all lost and destroyed in the war. Toys don't tend to last for 200+ years and they aren't exactly going to be wasting precious resources on hoverboards anymore.

All good except for the color mod. I actually like the visual effects in the game so I wouldn't use anything that changes them except for maybe a diagonal movement animation replacer. They don't even have a diagonal movement animation replacer for Oblivion though :(

I had this guy pegged as a troll until I saw his hoverboard idea... that would be DOPE. No ridable vehicles? F that, I've got a big bright plastic toy right here! Maybe not good for realism, but neither is Fast Travel. I made the player fly in Oblivion, I *think* I can re-use some of the code for this.

I don't think advertisemant is allowed here...

In any case, the only "essential" mod is the D3D9 fix. The rest are pointless - you really think a post-apocalyptic wasteland is all blue skies and cheerful sunshine? Hell, it's not like you'll get to enjoy it - good luck aiming with a centred third-person camera. MTUI? Why bother when DarN's UI will likely be finished soon.
Sure, CONELRAD is a good mod, and some may want to play after the main quest... but they sure as hell aren't "essential". If you don't believe me, try to kill them! *ba-dum-pssh*

funny thing is, i already dismissed all of these, save the DX9 fix... Aside from that, these are far from essential. Fallout needs to be darker, and gloomy, not brighter... I dont use 3rd person so thats a useless one, another radio station? i already dont use the ones available... MT UI holds no interest for me, the menus are fine the way they are. Perhaps the freeplay post ending mod would be nice, but by the time i get to that point i'm gana be just about done with the game, or i'll create a new character (and remove the perk every level mod).

Theres far better mods out there, such as the combat rebalances (so fights arnt just minute long slug fests). dont know about you guys, but i like not being able to just rush in and survive being gunned down by 9 guys with just me and my trusty reinforced leathers and some super stims.

Definition of essential...
absolutely necessary; vitally necessary; "essential tools and materials"; "funds essential to the completion of the project"; "an indispensable worker"
basic and fundamental; "the essential feature"
all-important(a): of the greatest importance; "the all-important subject of disarmament"; "crucial information"; "in chess cool nerves are of the essence"

Save the DX9 fix (which should have been sorted out by the devs WAY before hand anyways) this describes nothing mentioned in that article.
