Mods won't work

Post » Mon Feb 02, 2015 8:41 pm

So I downloaded 2 mods recently knights in skyrim (Armor mod) and Falskaar. I've tried the NMM and manually installing (btw i do not have steam if that matters) They show up in the data tab when you launch skyrim so it says they are active but the armor is not in the crafting menu and i cant find the NPC i need to start the Falskaar questline or the location. Anyone know what is wrong? (For clarification i have never used mods before and I am not very tech savvy so if you ask me to check for something please guide me through how to do it)

Dude, do you know where you are?

ok, how about this: How are you ruining the PC game without steam? (Only the PC game can use mods.)

you said you did not have Steam, meaning you pirated the game, meaning you Committed a crime and just admitted it on the forum of the company you stole from

I would not be surprised if your IP is blocked from these forums in a few minutes..

I want these DEV to get paid for their work and do not feel sorry for users that do not support them, so I was going to play cat and mouse a little, but I just do not have the heart to string you along.

You are not using an authorized version of the game. Mods will not work for such.

I mean unless something really big changed in the last year that I am unaware of, the only authorized versions of the game are thru steam.

So logically...either you stole it or someone ripped you off.

I hate steam, but that is how you will need to play the game with mods.

the game disc you "bought from a yard sale" would not install Skyrim unless you had Steam installed, and had Skyrim bound to your Steam account, thats the very reason game stores don't sell used PC games anymore..

so yeah, buying the Disc used does not back up your claim when the Disc won't install unless you had both Steam and a CD Key to bound that copy of Skyrim to your Steam account

Obvious conclusion based off what you have said so far: you are appearing to be using an illegal Pirated Copy..

The original game disks did not have the entire program on them, only enough code to then allow steam to download the game THRU steam.

If you have purchased the original games disk that came out the first few months on 11 11 11 you will still not be able to run the game because those game keys are now attached to someones steam account. IF they NEVER used the disks then you might still be able to use the disks and load the game THRU STEAM.

But I would bet a six pack that the disks you got are already keyed to a steam account OR they are fakes. Sorry man. But you will need to buy the game on steam.

Believe me man, the game is worth it (not as great as Oblivion for modding but ...). And now you will have all kinds of FREE mods and lots of help here on this forum!
