The desert is just to of a boring place. Why would they pick a place where nothing ever happens.

It just needs more encounters to the wasteland , maybe they could add those with the next DLC , just like they did with broken steel.

Did you happen to notice that Fallout and Fallout 2 have a desert like setting, IE the wasteland? There are forests and so on but much of the land is a "wasteland." The Mojave is a great place to have a game. Its close to the original locations of the first two games. Mojave also has great loactions like Las Vegas and Hoover Dam.

The western United States and the midwest would mostly be desert and it is in the Fallout universe.

Why? The Devs wanted to make a game that some what continues the story of the first two. If we went to Arizona it would be desert. If we went to any place in the Midwest, it would be mostly desert. If we went to Texas it would be desert.

A bit mundane the wasteland has very little except for a shack collecting habit i'd be fine if the strip was bigger.

I like it, it is plausible and is quite immersive.

Did you just say plausible in a game with highly irradiated butterfly's a man in a chamber keeping him a alive for hundreds of years controlling robots and useing bottle caps when theres perfectly normal pre war money?Nothing about this game "plausible".

....?

Is it the Mojave Wasteland not overflowing with over-the-top encounters and lack of "epic loots" everywhere driving you insane?

plausibility and setting are completely different, but are related, things that contradict the setting are implausible, but things that do not and are presented in a logical manner are quite plausible all-in-all.

And you know that the nuclear fallout spread all over the world, right? it doesnt just effect the places where nukes hit, it gets into the atmosphere and rains all over the planet.

Well, it is an the apocalypse...its not like you are going to see beautiful waterfalls or luscious trees scattered about a desolate wasteland....but sure they could have just made the game in a more pretty place and not something that is the same thing every five feet. So yeah I am going to go with "no" but yet it would be kind of hard to make a game in the apocalypse with out it being so bland, unless you are talking about a whole new game in a different setting.

First off, I don't think the Mojave is a desert, it's more of a badlands. And secondly (and this is much more impoirtant) this kind of setting is the only thing you'd find in a nuclear wasteland. Let's get our physics together folks. Nuclear bombs throw dirt and dust into the atmosphere. This dust blocks out sunlight, causing a nuclear winter, that would theoretically last about two years. In that time, the majority of the plant life would be killed off. So we're left with deserts and urban ruins, and that's about it. The only thing you'd find in the north is more barren emptyness, just with radioactive snow... And it could be glowing! That would be awesome!!!
