Mole rat disease at Vault 81 - perm damage to health

Post » Fri Jan 15, 2016 9:26 pm

I got bit my first playthrough, but the second time I dismissed Dogmeat and quick saved a lot. Then I just made sure I didn't get bit. After all, they are just mole rats.

The quest IS bugged, because if your companion or even if the Protectron get hit you get sick.

I agree I understand the choice you make is what the quest is all about and I would give the boy the cure every time, however there is no excuse why if a freaking robot gets bite by one that I should become sick.

She also says that the raw materials needed to make the cure are no longer available, iirc. She must have been working with pre-war drugs which no longer exist.

Its 10 hps, not 10%, I walk around with least triple that in rads. I saved the kid cause 10 hps I don't care about.

As others have said, it's definitely not a bug. It's just a moral choice that you have to make. Honestly I didn't even realize that I had the disease until waaaay later in the game. Once you level up a bit, -10 max hp is almost negligible.

Yeah, the hit points is nothing. But that pill icon in the status screen coupled with the vault boy walking with his tongue out as if your character were on the effects of a drug is annoying. It makes it harder to tell when you really are under the effect of a chemical. That was good and sufficient reason for me to spawn a new dose of the cure. After all, if living with the -10 HP is nothing, then getting them back is likewise negligible but it's being on my status screen got under my skin. :)

I think Power Armor should prevent players from getting the disease. I managed to bit without getting bite but -10 health would bother me no matter how small.

so why doesn't the dwellers in 81 seal up that part of the vault where the darn carriers of the disease live? I just know another kid is gonna wander down there and get bit!

They need to wipe them out. The molerats destructive digging was the cause of all of Vault 81's maintenance problems.
