How did Mole-Rats become so prevalent in the post-war enviroment? They are native to eastern africa, and don't inhabit the Americas at all.
I can't imagine they were popular pets and were stocked by pet stores, as was the situation with the rad-scorpions' progenitors...

If you're familiar with mole-rats' biology, it's fairly clear *why* they would thrive in a nuclear wasteland, but *how* did they get there?
Anyone willing to speculate?

Mole Rats in Fallout were made in labs. They were made for war. The idea was they would live in any land no matter how harsh. They can eat through almost anything. Causing alot of damage for the enemy. They were made to reproduce at a high rate.
