Molerat disease

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 11:34 pm

Is messed up. It can't be cured. And all for a companion I will never use. Be nice if the game told me what the quest was for- I would've skipped it. A permanent effect like this should not be in the game. Without me knowing how and why before hand.

Anyway, is there a way to remove it via console?

Eh, I really don't see it as a big deal. I certainly don't notice a difference.

Oh my, it is as if this game has actual consequences and doesn't hold your hand all the time!

This is obviously impossible because people have told me so repeatedly!

Kidding aside this is one of the better quests in the game.

When they fix the moronic bug that infects you via any vector including protectrons.

or maybe that is not a bug but a feature? That is some weird Science! virus if that's the case.

Fine, let the kid suffer with the disease next time if the 10 hit points mean that much to you.

As others have pointed out you can actualy cure you self at the expense of the kids life and becoming hated in the vault 81, so if the perma -10hp bothers you so much you can always do that.

And yes the desease is a bit bugged since you get it if any allied unit/companion gets it, however it is still possibile to complety avoid infection by going in alone not use the protecterons and killing all molerats at range as long as they dont touch you you will not catch the desease.

That was the whole point. You and Austin both have a horrid disease and there is only one cure. It's the age old question: do you value your own life, or the life of someone else. Will you cure yourself at the expense of a child's life, or will you save that child knowing you can never be completely healthy ever again?

Actually you can get the companion regardless of method you complete this; either be very cautious and dont get hit by a molerat at all or let the kid die

I say screw the kid. Even if my HP is 200 and my PA can withstand 2k ballistic and energy damage - -10 HP is a n0pe from me

There was an option to share it. Has anyone tried that?

I did. I got card selfish and the doctor took the cure and used it on the kid only. I was just like, 'Meh..whatever.' and went on about my business.

As said before you can avoid getting infected at all, just need to be carefull not to get dmged by any of the rats its not even hard(just rember do it alone dont use companions/protecterons cuz its bugged so if they get hit you get the disiase as well)

People complain that their choices have no consequences.

Lo and behold, a choice with consequence, and people complain... jfc

Also, it seems pretty obvious, at least to me, that this would be a consequence. If you paid any attention at all to the quest, you'd know it was an infectious disease that you obtain from a molerat bite. Did you want the game to slap you in the face and yell at you that you'd get a disease if you got bit?

edit: anyway, if you care so much just spawn a cure and use it. I won't be bothered to find the code for you, so do it yourself. or go to the debug room using qasmoke and find it there.

Well -10 HP is nothing and it makes no sense that this is the only permanent "choice" Status effect in the game. I only don't like it to see the debuff.
