The tower wasn't cropped out of the magazine, only the scan. :P

Euphoria is an AI that has simulated animation while Behavior uses premade animations that are blended together and scripted.

Behavior is closer to Morpheme than Euphoria.

For some reason, a couple bits about random encounters of assisting giants track a mammoth and fighting off dragons with some soldiers was removed.

Whoa? That's worrisome. What's going on?

About the apparent edits in the article: Who cares? Wasn't anything exciting that has been taken out, I mean if dragons fly around, they're gonna attack mammoths, sure, we guessed so.

It's really about the mystery of why these simple examples of random encounters were removed from the article. Were they removed because they don't actually exist in the game or because they were things Bethesda did not want to reveal yet?

What's his Twitter?

Who cares than you might be able to communicate and be tasked by a giant - a erstwhile hostile NPC ?

And that's a good thing or bad thing?

Because they will be featured in a gameplay trailer perhaps?

Am I'm the only one not freaking out about the edits? Either it was false info and we're not going to encounter such a situation, and Beth is doing a quick rewrite to something more likely, or it's info we aren't supposed to get yet, I'm thinking the former, and they're really just making sure that they aren't saying something which they can't promise.

A game using Euphoria will always look like a game that uses Euphoria.

A game using Behavior will always look different depending on how well the animation behavior is scripted.

I would say the latter because why would gi just make up two encounters that they didn't know existed and put it in their article. Especially knowing someone from beth would read it.

summer is online, and watching. Beware, I'm not cheap

And does this mean we finally get talking creatures??? Talking goblins ftw. I wonder what language they speak.

I don't know, but like LostInSpace said, you'd be able to communicate with creatures, not just NPCs, which is pretty cool.

This feature was in Fallout 3, so it's not a huge leap in game-play. But it is cool to know that giants are sentient creatures, or some of them.

I'd agree, nothing to worry about maybe it was just a potential quest they showed to the GI guys that wasnt done.

If it's not actually in the game I would prefer them to confirm it as such.

How did we find out it was edited? Is there a sidebar saying those things were removed in the article or are those two situations just gone from the article with no mention of an edit?

you guys talking about this paragraph?

"Radiant Story doesn't limit these new missions to encounters in towns. Like in Fallout 3 and Red Dead Redemption, a lot of random events occur while you're exploring the wilderness as well. "There are a wide variety of these random encounters," says design director Bruce Nesmith. "Many of them are things the player can interact with, some are not. You might save a priest who then tells you about a dungeon where there are people trapped that need saving. You might run across mammoth beset by a pack of wolves."

"...You might run across mammoth beset by a pack of wolves."

Oh dear god yes. Forget the bear cavalry, I want to ride a war-mammoth. The fact that Skyrim now has confirmed dragons, Centurion Spheres, Giant Spiders, Mammoths, Giants and more is shaping this up to be one epic game. Not to mention the general jaw-hanging nature of that latest hub update. Seriously... Why did they have to release this information 10 months early? It's killing me now!

Oh, and Dreighton, there was a previous mention of helping giants track mammoths, or helping soldiers hunt dragons. Allegedly. People seem to think that GI and Bethseda sneakily edited it out, just to make everyone paranoid and crazy.

Several people claimed to have read similar things about helping giants kill a mammoth, something that, as of now, is not in the article and collusion is very unlikely.

In case you need another witness to call to the stand, I specifically remember the bit talking about helping giants out. I remember thinking that part was odd and I continued reading, not realizing conspiracy theories would develop later on.

The evidence against GI removing the alleged bits is pretty overwhelming considering we have multiple witnesses including myself who distinctly remember those examples of random encounters being there.

Yes some of us read the article as soon as it dropped and remeber reading something along those lines and now it's gone. I refuse to believe i'm going crazy.
