Money Sinks (speculation and wishful thinking)

I don't know about the rest of you, but in Oblivion it seemed like once you had so much money there was literally nothing to really spend it on. I thought it would be fun to speculate and discuss some potential options to spend all that money earned trawling through dungeons and caving in goblin skulls.

1.) Houses: They were in the other games, but there was never any real customization to them. Let us set up animal trophies and different furniture (we know woodcutting is in). It would be great to have the option of expanding into more of a rugged frontier style fort or settlement (similar to Bloodmoon) having to pay or talk people into joining your community for their services (blacksmiths, vendors, guards, etc)

2.)Boats: They were in Daggerfall, and with the introduction of fishing it seems like a great chance to bring them back (deep sea fishing anyone). Would function similar to a home with furniture etc below deck, but with less space.

3.) Arena/Pit Fights: This could function as a way to make money or to spend money. If there is any sort of arena system in Skyrim I think it would be nice to have the option of being commisioned to haul in combatents (beasts, daedra, anything that'll fight in a cage or be tied up). You'd be sent out with a few other NPCs to locate and retrieve certain animals or monsters and subdue or cage them and bring them back to the arena for a fat paycheck. I also think it'd be a nice addition to have an arena in your own settlement where you can be the one doing the hiring/commissioning to bring in combatents for your own amusemant.

4.) Item Customization: If there's as little weapon variety as in Oblivion this won't be much of an option, but having the ability to upgrade a weapons durability/power/speed/encumberance (less) at a blacksmith for the right amount of money would be a great way to hold on to that great looking sword after you've found a "not so great" looking sword of better quality. This would be a good option to keep your weapon viable for a longer period of time if you haven't found another one that you like even after the better materials start to show up.

5.) Keep rare weapons and armor RARE and REALLY expensive if a piece happens to show up in a shop. I'm gonna mention Oblivion again ( I loved the game, I really did), but having cleaned out a dungeon and deciding if i want to drop the daedric warhammer, the daedric cuirass, or the daedric staff of unholy face melting should not even be an option. Once the good equipment starts showing up it's all over for iron and steel equipment. I would much rather see it done like it was in Daggerfall where equipment of good materials were extremely rare to see drop and just as expensive to buy if they show up in a shop.

These are just some of my ideas and I'd like to hear more if anyone has any. I realize most these aren't gonna make it into the game, except maybe 1 and 5, but this is just a thread of wishful thinking when it comes to what we'll be able to do with that 100,000 gold sitting in our characters pocket.
