I'm sure this has been brought up quite allot but how do you get loads of money in this game and I don't want to hear stuff that has been patched on xbox.
So like I said any info would be helpful.

Scavenge as much as you can. If you do it as insanely and anolly as I do then you should be rolling in caps by level 10. If you want a quicker way then play Dead Money, bankrupt the Sierra Madre and trade in all of your chips for 100k caps worth of Pre-War Money. If you want an even faster way then I'm sure there are still lots of glitches that can be exploited, but I personally don't like making millions of caps off of a glitch.

I guess I have to scavenge because I don't have dead money and I'm not sure I wanna buy it with the reviews it has got.

You can also increase your repair skill, and repair the items you scavenge prior to selling them; A high Barter skill should improve the prices you are able to command.

It definitely seems to be the black sheep of New Vegas' DLC. Some people absolutely despise it, but I actually really enjoyed it. It has my favourite companions of any of the DLCs and I really enjoyed the story and setting. Its also the creepiest of the DLCs.
Now for some advice about scavenging, forgive me if some of this seems obvious:
The most important thing too remember is the all knowing caps to weight ratio. When you first start out I would suggest to have the ratio at 1:1, scavenge everything in site. After you get a few thousand caps, then you can raise it to 2:1. After that its really a judgement call, I have never passed up the chance to pick up a wonderglue, but I have never picked up a vacuum cleaner on purpose. The best ratios will always be weapons and the worst will mostly be armour. The only armour suggest you even think about picking up to sell is either Combat or Power, unless you have under 1000 caps. If your priority is scavenging then never wear Power Armour, the max Strength you can get from PA is +2, but you'll still have an extra 20+ lbs weighing you down. Leather Armour Reinforced is a good choice, I've only ever raised my Barter in hardcoe when I needed the Pack Rat perk(which is not strictly necessary outside of hardcoe). Strong Back is essential and if you have Lonesome Road then Burden to Bear is just as useful, any perk that affects your carry weight positively is useful. Jury Rigging also helps massively, repairing a Hunting Rifle with a Varmint Rifle is definitely a good investment. Lockpick I feel is always essential, but even more so to a scavenger. Unless you have a particular fondness towards Energy Weapons(I suggest you stick with Guns since EWs on the whole are worth more) massacring the Van Graffs can net upwards of 10k caps easily. The Gunrunners guards that patrol the outside of the building behind the Vendortron's shack respawn, have Combat Armour and Hunting Rifles and their deaths will not affect your ability to trade with the Gunrunners. I would suggest sneak attacking them, since the guy who hangs out by the ammo bench will attack you if he sees anything and he's used for a mission(a side mission, but good for caps and a discount at an important trader).

When properly scavenging what you pick up, as I said before, is a judgement call. You have to decide if it's worth it, also make as many Weapon Repair Kits as you can. If you do have to use someone to repair your gear, repair as much as you can, sneak behind them, save, pickpocket your caps back and reload if caught.

Kill the fiends west and south of McCarren Airport. They carry lots of energy weapons and other stuff that you can repair and sell for a lot of caps. They aren't hard to farm, and killing them is good fun, too!

There's a bunch of good stuff you can scavenge and sell in Dead Wind cavern. You'll have to deal with some Viper members, but that's it.

you didn't mention how much money you wanted or what you wanted the money for. if your luck is high enough 9 or ten than you can win playing blackjack. also there is a perk that will increase amount found as loot.

True, he could be trying to make a tiny pyramid out of caps or build a 20 foot tall statue of No-bark out of wonderglue and gecko steaks.

I just found this today: Silver Rush questline, start the first mission and let everyone in. I won't spoil it, but it leads to valuable loot. No requirements whatsoever. Also, if you have Dead Money, save as many SM chips as possible and exchange them at the casino for 1 prewar money each. That's 10 caps for each chip. You can also save money off weapon repairs by bringing packs/cartons of cigs and exchanging for weapon repair kits at the bunker after finishing the DLC (I think). In Novac, you can steal/kill some people to get to negative rep and that gets you perfect buy prices at the store.

Be a miser? Often times I'd sooner limp halfway across the wasteland than cough up for medical treatment early game. Also, loot and sell as much as you can. I hear people new to the game saying they don't have enough money to get into Vegas and that baffles me. First play-through I had a few thousand by the time I reached Vegas and these days I'll have easily 10 thousand or more.

1. Scavenge
2. Jury Rig
3. Sell
4. Profit

Steal all the gold bars from Dead money, something like 38,000 caps a bar.

barter - 84
1 gold bar - 8800caps - gun runners
where are other traders with more caps that 8000 (standard at GR)
next time i play trough i'll know to take all the bricks, but my first try was what i could carry without being overloaded, and took the long road back, to avoid confruntation with "the elder"

by the time i arrived in vegas (regular quest, not fasrtforwarding trough them) i was having only +1000 caps but high science and hacked the robot :brokencomputer:
100 science and lockpick to get everywhere.

No idea, I usually give a trader one bar and take everything they have in the trade, seems only fair for a shiney piece of metal.

You can also increase your repair skill, and repair the items you scavenge prior to selling them;

To expand on this, get your Repair skill up to 90 and take the Jury Rigging perk. Then you'll be able to repair expensive weapons with cheap ones. For example, if you loot a bunch of poor-condition hunting rifles, don't sell them or repair them with each other, instead buy full-condition varmint rifles from the Gun Runner Vendortron, use that to repair the hunting rifles, then sell them for massive profit. Similarly, hoard all 9mm pistols and .357 revolvers to repair 10mm pistols, the submachine guns and .44 revolvers. You'll come across a bunch of very low-condition power armor in the course of the BoS quests, repair them with metal armor and sell them. You can do the same thing with every weapon/armor class, just keep an eye out for the value of the items, the difference can be as much as 10x. You'll never want for caps again, even if you don't invest in Barter skill.

How about 10,000 - 50,000

Like I said before, scavenge everywhere you go and use every single discount you can possibly get. Get at least a Liked rep with the Great Khans because their merchant(the Great Khan Armour can be found in the basemant of an old building at the entrance to Red Rock Canyon) will trade at a 1:1 ratio, ignoring your Barter skill, with a rep that high.

As others have said, scavenge, and the Dead Money DLC isnt too bad either... Though I use my chips on Stimpacks :3.

For starting money, get your luck to a decent level, id say 7, and then find those two items (i think D:) that raise your luck. I personally just got my luck to 9, then used an implant... Didnt feel like spending hours searching for an item XD. After that, go to the casinos, get 500 chips (Could do less... I guess...) and start playing Blackjack. Should be able to net 10k caps in chips at each casino, and one or two gives you some Combat Armor, as well as all (Or most) giving you a deluxe room and whatnot.. I believe there to be... Five? Casinos, so theres 50k caps easy. Might take an hour of your time, so not too bad.

As for scavenging, if you have em, do all four DLCs. I suggest picking up any weapon/armor/item worth over 1k caps, and storing it at a safe place in the DLC's area to come back for later. Except for in Dead Money, which you cant return to the area afterwords... But yeah, all the DLCs weapons and such will get you 50-75k caps EASY, probably even more depending if you pick up and repair any worthwhile item.

As for scavenging, pretty much anything you do that involves enemies with guns/weapons/armor will net you a good profit. Not sure if they have better weapons and armor at higher levels or not though... *shrugs*. As for being a pro scavenger, id suggest definitely getting 100 Repair and picking up the Jury Rigging perk, if not so much for being a scavenger and repairing the weapons you pick up, at least for yourself. Will save you tons of time and money.. Anyway, also pick up the perks that get you higher weigh limits... Im at 350 now, and I still get overencumbered sometimes XD.

But, like I said pretty much anything can net you some caps.. My suggestion: Do quests for a faction until there are no more, and if you arent planning on doing anything with them later on, kill em. Especially those at the Silver Rush... Lots and lots of EWs, FTW? Just do their questline, get the rewards, and slaughter them. Might be difficult though.. But oh well.

But yeah, do the DLCs if you have em, and if you dont, go buy em. They increase your Level Cap by 20 (With all 4 of em), and the unique items are sometimes fun to use, and yield good profit.

As for vendors you can sell your stuff too, all have a cap limit, so if your selling a lot at one time, it can prove to be a hassle... So here are the ones I use, and the cap limits I know (Note: A high Barter skill helps tremoundously as a scavenger, you can buy items like Ammo and armor and Stimpacks for significantly cheaper, as well as sell items for a higher amount of caps):

Gun Runner Vendotron- Location: Gun Runners. Cap amount: 8000. Sells: Ammo for most weapons (excluding EW, I believe), weapons that range from snipers to pistols to SMGs to Fat Man's to everything else... thats not a EW. And Armor, mostly Combat iirc.

SINK central thing- Location: The SINK. Cap amount: 15k (Highest ive seen..). Sells: Ammo for a lot of weapons, Armor, etc etc.

Silver Rush- Location: Freeside. Cap Amount: I believe 8000. Sells: EW ammo and weapons, and I believe Combat armor. Cant remember, been ages since I slaughtered them.

Mick and Ralphs- Location: Freeside. Cap Amount: NOt sure, I believe around 3-4k accounting for both of em. Sells: Moderate amount of Ammo and some weapons..

I hardly ever use M&R's, and I dont use Silver Rush. Usually The SINK and Gun Runners are enough for whatever I need to sell.

Also, when repairing weapons, I believe Raul? Gaul? The Ghoul helps a lot if you dont have Jury Rigging, as well as ED-E who can repair one item per day +25% after Lonesome Road (I believe he keeps the ability...). As the other guy said, get Weapon Repair Kits if you dont plan on getting Jury Rigging, I believe they arent too hard to make...

Thats all the info I have on scavenging or making money XD. Also, most raider groups have some decent weapons, and if they arent too valuable, at least you can repair with em. Keep Varmint or w/e, Cowboy Repeaters, Service Rifles, and any other easy to access weapon around, or just store it, if you get Jury Rigging. That way you can easily repair the weapons you pick up for cheap, and net a bigger profit. Same with armor, though I hardly ever repair it, since I can never figure out what I can repair with what thats cheap XD.

Why are you throwing your money out of the window?
Just put a couple of points into your survival skill, and you have access to food based healing items which are quite bit more potent than Stims.

Damn right!Survival is my fav skill because of hardcoe, but from time to time u just gotta use a super stimpack to get back at it.

On topic:Scavenge cartoon cigarettes, gamble if u have a high luck, kill them gun runner guards, collect snow globes(2k each and theyre awesome!), sell jet (theres a lot of it to be honest) drin beer instead of the high ended vodka wich you can sell.
