Maybe a poltergeist would be nice? They could toss objects at you and move the objects around you to freak you out. Maybe in a haunted mansion or something. I'd love a ghost hunting side quest lol.

I don't have any great Ideas for new monsters, but what i would like to see if improvements in the danger and placement of old ones.

There should be a good number of lower danger enemies around, that can do damage and weaken you, but not usually kill unless they come in groups, like wolves and mountain lions. Bigger, stronger enemies should be slightly more rare, but should be fairly dangerous, even to higher level characters, low level character might just have to run if they encounter one of these. They would be things like trolls, minotaurs, and ogres, and would even sometimes be in groups. At higher levels, you shouldn't just encounter tons of enemies that are supposed to be rare and extremely powerful. for example, it doesn't make sense to run into 50 litches in one dungeon, litches are supposed to be really rare, only very powerful necromancer are able to become litches, so why are there so many of them, and why are they so weak there are many times that i have taken on up to 6 or so litches AT ONE TIME, how could ANYONE do that?

So, before you worry abour new enemies, make the ones you already have more interesting, I want to be afraid of more than just the way a litch or troll or Elder Vampire looks.

How about unique versions of each type of monster (Similar to the giant mudcrab hidden in one of the caves in Oblivion.) that will drop unique weapons/armor/etc ?

I'd like to see some creatures that camouflage with their surroundings. Making the player have to look around carefully, trying to look for anything different. And if you're not on guard, they'll ambush you. I know this isn't on topic but, I'd like to see something similar with the bandits and marauders. Especially with Argonians and Kahjiits, as their suppose to be masters in guerilla warfare.

A Basilisk, and if you don't bring a Mirror Shield to fight it, you will become a block of stone!

Deadlier sea creatures, in Oblivion it really f*cking annoyed me when I would be careful in the water only to catch on that the sea creatures were p*ssies (please excuse my language). The sea enemies in Morrowind were at a balanced difficulty.

Also some larger enemies, about 20 feet. I am sick of small enemies :(

First of all, let us see some new creatures instead of the cliche "dragons" or "Giant Spiders" and other generic monsters.

Cursed Statue - A statue that becomes alive with a spell.
Giants - Humanoids tall as trees but rare.
Werewolves,
Bats.
Giant Snakes.
Giant Rats - Doesent come in packs.
Skeleton Mage
Elder Ogre - Like in the monster mod.
Octopus.
Orca.

I don't know if this has been thought of already by someone on here but how bout this?

How about a typical fantasy monster. Something made out of those sound making staglamites like the one's in Morrowind. It would come crawling out with the shards on it's back and charge at you. Every time you would try to shoot it with and arrow, the arrows bounce off of course. The only weakness is a blunt weapon. Not the best one but I feel left out from not being on here for a very long time.

It would be nice with some giant snakes, and spiders, they can clearly do a very well done interpretation of scorpions in Fallout 3, I hope they will carry some of that over in TES:V, would also be nice with some flying enemies, just not cliffracers.

Id like some creepy creatures that make creepy noices and hide in creepy caves. Other than that id love more fantasy-like creatures to be in the woods. From time to time in Oblivion i almost forgot i was playing a fantasy game due to all the wolfs, bears, deers and such that occured. Im not exactly into the TES-lore, so i dont know what creatures are mentioned there, but id prefer some "bigger" creatures too, like "boss" creatures(could be related to quests or w/e). This could be Dragons, demons, huge golems, beholders, w/e.

Personaly, I want Yagrum Bagarn to come back in a giant meccha, leading an army of Dwemer centurians.

One thing I liked about Morrowind was that the waters and skies were also occupied. Danger was literally everywhere.

The reason for that, I think, is that Morrowind, and more specificaly, Vvardenfell, was supposed to convey a frontier-like feeling. Whereas Oblivion was more down to earth and tame because it takes place in Cyrodill; the centre of government for the empire.

id like to see some giant monsters.

River trolls guars rivers blocks merchants

Giant sea.. things you know the scary ones

Some thing that makes you cuss when you see it ( i rember leveled trolls in oblivion)

maybe some packs of animals, why are wolves attacking you solo?
maybe some animals will ignore you if there not in groups?

Undead that travel at night how scary would that be on the roads at low levels?

why is everyting mean to me? If everything attacked everyone it sees, even when that some one is stronger than it, why would that species still be alive?

At some point the dwarves are comming back, maby not tes 5 but eventually.

They are currently either the piles of ash in the Dwemer ruins, or they are the golden skin of the Brass God Numidium. There is no rematerializing for them. They're gone, not to return.

- Depending upon the climate, I would like to see giant, furry spiders (coming in the colors of brown and glossy black). Ones like Shelob from The Lord of the Rings, but they would look like real spiders, not monsters. Yes I know that they are overused, but they're scary and cool. Just imagine going down a dark and narrow tunnel and a giant spider speeds around a corner in a mad dash to kill you... And it would be cool if they could scale walls and walk on ceilings. (Spider daedra do not count as giant, furry spiders).

- Lions, jaguars, tigers and leopards. I wouldn't be surprised if Bethesda added them to a game set in Elsweyr.

- People keep saying that they want dragons that can fly for a mount. How about giant birds instead, since apparently, The Elder Scrolls lore doesn't allow for dragons.

-Elephants.

The Elder Scrolls lore doesn't allow for dragons.

Dragons exist in TES lore just fine. However, they do manage to escape the more glaring fantasy tropes on the subject. The main character, Cyrus the Restless, kills one in TES Adventures: Redguard. They are exceedingly rare, intensely loyal to (and sacred symbols of) the Empire, and arguably no-one has a clue where they are.

I must admit, though, that the Redguard dragon fight was the most unsatisfactory fight of purportedly epic nature I have ever experienced. Nothing more than me stabbing repeatedly at the leathery crotch of a massive reptile, and when I finally realized the adventure-game style trick to killing it, the thing went down so pathetically easy. TES doesn't do epic too well at all, what with character-relevant skills and not really being the type of game to utilize crazy jRPG-ish combat animations. Hence, TES as a game shouldn't display dragons.

That's what I meant, dragons are rare in The Elder Scrolls series. They can't be a common monster like spriggans are in Oblivion and bonelords are in Morrowind. When people on this forum (and others) whine about dragons not being in Oblivion, they're complaining about dragons not being a common monster to kill. They also complain that there are no dragons to tame and to ride in the sky. They need to realize that none of these two things are going to happen in The Elder Scrolls games.

Im pretty sure a developer even said that they're not putting a dragon in the game (being 1 or 1000 of them) just so you can slay it.

Dragons would be cool...but you guys are right. No other TES game has had dragons as a common enemy. It would definitely seem pointless to bring them in all of a sudden. TES is unique from all other fantasy games...and dragons will take that away.

It would be nice to see some more humanoid creatures and sea creatures as others have said. It'd be cool to see something like the Alit or Guar from Morrowind. I find it likely that you would still see creatures from other provinces. Animals can migrate for great distances over many years, settling in many different areas. Take for example foxes, many different species of foxes exist and can be seen in deserts, woodlands and even in the arctic tundra. Plus, I would find it likely that a nobleman might have creatures captured for his own personal collection or possibly released in the wild to hunt for sport. Sort of like how some noblemen in Morrowind sought after Dwelmer artifacts.

Some different goblins would be nice. They all seem to be about the same size. But yet they're described to vary in size from "shorter than a Bosmer to larger than a Nord".

But most importantly, I'd like to see more activity from monsters. If you watch them from a distance they don't do much. Usually they just walk from one spot, stand there for a bit and than walk to another spot...stand there, and the cycle keeps repeating. It'd be nice to see them maybe trying to hunt for food or gather food from plants (humanoids). Or if there are flying enemies, maybe we can see them flying in formation and off in the distance, and possibly land in some other location. Speaking of such, seeing some birds would be nice too. We saw butterflies in Oblivion but only heard birds.
