Monthly Subscription for New Zealand

Post » Wed Mar 05, 2014 9:42 pm

Hey im from New Zealand i want to buy ESO on pc when it comes out but us kiwis have to pay the subscription fee in euros ($15 will now be $24) which is not good considering everyone else is going to be paying $15 in there currency is there any luck that you guys will put in NZD for monthly fees or will this be an option already.

Makes no sense to charge New Zealand subscription fees in EUROS - we're nowhere near Europe, and also other games don't charge us in EUROS either (we pay in USD for all other games), so they can't even claim it's a reasonable price consistent with the market here.

The price is 15 dollars or 12.99 euros.

12.99 EUR = 21.422623 NZD

14.99 USD= 17.991116 NZD

So we are overpaying by $4 a month when we pay in EUROS.

I believe what the kiwis are saying is that after the conversion from New Zealand dollars to euros, they're effectively paying 24 of their dollars, which is a lot more than they should be paying.

I'll do that all the time, because I live in Finland :) It's not that bad or is it?

It is when you consider the difference is that you go to your job and earn euros and pay in euros, whereas the kiwis are earning kiwidollars and paying in euros, so it hurts them more.

Also hi kiwis, Germany speaking. Apparently we're neighbors or something, according to Elder Scrolls online. Yknow cause Europe and Kiwiland so close. Only 12 hour time difference!

But as the Zenimax said before, the prices are not final. Lets hope that they will reduce the cost for you.

Makes no sense when USD is a world backed currency. How ever isn't New Zealand a common wealth?

We don't live anywhere near Europe for a start, so there is no justification for charging us in EUROS, unless it is to deliberately fleece us.

We're also ANZUS (Australia/New Zealand/United States). Australia pays in AUD btw.

You make it sound like a crime that requires Archangel Tyrael to swing his El'druin at those responsible.

As I mentioned above, nothing is final yet. Lets hope that they will add a charge option for NZD or reduce the cost for you. Have you contacted Zenimax about this?

They share the same queen, but they don't use pounds.

Maybe Zenimax will give us the option to chose wich currency we prefer to pay.

Yes I have, many times (generally get a run around, or they "forget" to call me back).

Customer Service can't help at all - they can only repeat what they have been told (New Zealand will be getting charged in EUROS, check back later to see if this changes because who knows, have a nice day).

Do you really expect them to call you back? There are, without a doubt, more people who reported in about the Euro that should be switched to NZD.

When they tell me they're going to call back, as with any business I expect they will call me back.

Dollars rates are high in my country also, but Euro is highter. But their expenses are based in dollars so I don't really think it's fair that they charge me in my country moneys (because USD > BRL$). But I'll appreciate if they give me this option.

And considering you are one of many who want NZD instead of Euros, you can't expect them to call every single person back who called them about that one issue when there are more issues being reported in.

Good luck if you want them to call back a few hundred people in a workday.

This is what Customer Service does with their callback system. Have you not used it yet?

Also my ticket has been escalated several times, so I am talking to people familiar with the issue, which is why they need to be calling me back - saves both parties wasting time.

The problem is their hands are tied - ZOS has messed up and Customer Service is in the middle of it all with nothing to say but this is what's happening.
