MOO or FCOM

TIE and OOO have problems running together. Choose one or the other imo

This is one reason why I do not like MOO. I like to keep the number of scripts running in my games to a minimum. Scripts can be resource-hungry and can burden a CPU, especially if one runs any other mods that use scripts.

I prefer to use mods that alter game data directly. I'm more than happy to deal with compatibility issues (which are usually few in my games and, when they do occur, can usually be reconciled with a Bashed Patch) in order to limit the number of mod-added scripts.

MOO is less CPU heavy than FCOM.

Yeah honestly maskar is either a prodigy scripter ( likely), or scripts dont plague oblivion as much as skyrim because I dont feel heavy at all using maskars which is surprising

I use Maskar's in a pretty heavy load order (~200 esm/esp files) and all high TES replacers and the only places my game slows down are the usual spots -Better Cities Arcane University near the crystals and the Anvil and Leyawiin waterfronts, because of all the NPCs and ship mast meshes. Every where else it's a good 30 FPS nearly all the time (capped at 30 in OSR to prevent out of memory crashes).

An heavy loaded game with FCOM is much worse than some light scripts from MOO!

Yes, scripts can be resource-hungry (the ones which run every frame and do intensive tasks), but MOO use light and optimized scripts. You won't lose a single frame with them.

Jumping in as it seem pertinent: would we lose something with Kobal/OOO+MOO? Also, we need all omob patchs, or MOO take care of stats?

You will not see any creatures or items from MMM or Frans or Warcry but MOO adds similar or better items and creatures anyway. You would need OMOBS probably because of OOO and also you can tweak the damange stats and all other features via ini that comes with MOO.

MOO is the best choice. FCOM is very time consuming to install. I rather spend my time playing mods than managing mods or tracing mysterious bugs and crashes. MOO's use of an ini file to make tweaks should be the standard for mods instead of too many plugins to manage that limit the load order. Plus its made by one person so that should make it easier for the user to ask questions or ask about compatibility patches.

If you want to actually play Oblivion rather than manage mods for hours and hours like I have with FCOM then choose MOO you won't regret it.

I'm a big fan of mods and have being modding my Bethesda games for years. I installed FCOM pretty much straight off the bat when I took up OB and ended up not enjoying the game for the longest time. I'd used to play for a bit and get too frustrated with it to continue. I found the enemies both in strength and numbers so over powering I ended up using the console kill command to get through the incredibly tedious oblivion gates at the end. Tried a few times to work it out and find a sweet spot but got annoyed at spending more time trying to tweak things than playing. Stability wasn't too much of an issue, CTDs happened reasonably often but not overly.

I rebuilt my install a little while ago and find it much less of a slog and far more enjoyable now. Crashes are very rare too.

Sometimes, for some people, less is more.

Someone please clarify.

With OOO/Kobal+MOO, do I need OMOBS patches?

Also, someone indicated that MOO will auto-adjust weapons. Which setting in the ini control this behavior?

That was what i just asked above...

about MOO, install it last. When you install it, it check what mods you already have, then he adjusts his compatibility ini.
