[BETA/REL] More Better Clothes

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:40 pm

I've finally grabbed time to finish the rest of the shirts that Better Clothes didn't hit! Here are all the Extravagant Shirts, the Exquisite Shirt, the Ashlander Expensive Shirts, and the Hair Shirt of St. Aralor, all nice and smooth.

I do not have time to properly test this - or even take screenshots - before I go to class tonight, but I don't want to make you wait! So until tomorrow when I can get a complete release together, here's the actual download. Let me know how this works out for you.

Grabbed it, awesome work Plangkye. I'll try and get around to checking it out in game. have fun at class

I walked around a little in game with these, and from what I've seen they fit so seamlessly in with the rest of the game, it's amazing.

Sweet. I just finished dl'ing and I'll have a look at things in-game; I'm sure that everything will be just fine. ;)

That's probably because I made the textures by piecing together Bethesda's original textures... now all that's left is for someone to let Darknut at 'em :P

Yes. That will be volume III, because I place Tribunal at a higher priority.

After reading your readme, you're saying that once you complete all 3 volumes, that your mod in conjunction with the Better Clothes mod will cover every piece of clothing in the game, including gloves and minor clothing like that? Will you uploading this to PES? Will you combine all 3 volumes into one download file?

Once you finish with all the meshes, do you think there's any chance you'll work on giving Better Clothes (and More Better Clothes) the texture facelift it so desperately needs? Especially compared to Hilgya the Seamstress or EFCR, BC is starting to look very dated...

It's alot of work, but I agree new textures really would add so much to the game. And looking at your gorgeous clothing mods Plangkye, you've definately got the artistic skill to take it on!

Thanks for the much needed update. I've waited a long time for this. :) The new clothes look 100% better.

Answering questions in order: I actually hadn't thought to do gloves or skirts since they're already unsegmented, BC already got shoes, and until some kind of magic happens to give up more visible body slots there's nothing I can do with belts, rings, and amulets. It will be uploaded to PES, and an all-in-one download will be available in addition to the individual volumes (which will remain as they are in order not to alienate folks who only have vanilla MW).

I do, but even then it's just filters applied over the vanilla textures (same as his weapons and armor), which can only get you so far visually. They may have visible stitching on the texture now (or bumps or whatever), but the actual details of the clothing are still as blurry as they ever were, it's just harder to notice.

To be clear, I'm well aware that it would be a massive undertaking to try to create textures from scratch for all of the clothing and fully understand why nobody has attempted to do so yet, I was just wondering if Plangkye had any plans for it.

What do you mean "segmented"?

I mean they're already single skinned meshes, unlike the shirts which had separate models for arms/elbows/torso/wrists, the thing BC is all about correcting. The BC team used the same reasoning for not bothering with robes.

Thanks for the new clothes, Plangkye.

Regarding gloves, maybe just do some of the unique sets. Like the Bal Molagmer gloves, and Treachery/Deceit.

hahahahah oh you wonderful fellow.

I JUST got back to Morrowind today, thinking to myself "I really wish BC had finished with the higher tier clothes, maybe I should request an extravagant or exquisite shirt mesh"--and LO and behold. My wishes are answered!

My thanks could not be profuse enough. This is a great surprise and will help tide over the time until Westly's head pack is complete. :D

edit: there appears to be some slight clipping between the tails of the female extravagant_shirt_02 and the extravagant_pants_01.

edit2: Wait, YOU'RE the one that made that improved Almalexia mod? I've been using that for ages and have been suggesting it to everyone I know! You really *are* my hero!

By the by, I've heard that you've made some armor replacers as well? I've found a few of them... did you ever finish that? :)

edit3: Which skin textures are you using in this screenshot? http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/fms/Image.php?id=85380 That doesn't look like default BB.

Gee, I'm full of questions today.

That's right, because underneath them is transparent. But you could still make a new better texture to replace the existing one, right?

It's nice to see this released, I like Better Clothes, but it's always bothered me that there are still some clothes in the game that it doesn't cover, like the upper class shirts, making me not want to wear these, so this will make a nice addition to Morrowind.

Huh. I use those very same ones, yet they don't look nearly as spectacular as in those screenshots... I mean, they're really good (that's why I use them!) but they don't look like that. I wonder if it's a lighting thing.

edit: for example, the neck doesn't look defined and awesome like in the screenshot.

Great work here, Plangkye! The more clothes meshes for BB the merrier I am sure to be (as well as all the other BB fans). Again, Fantasic :celebration: !
