I recently had a major facebook fight with a leader of a Caesar's Legion rp group (I was just trying to embrace my inner dork) anywho...this particular rp group insists that Caesar's Legion is just full of evil monsters hell bent on taking everything in their path. I then disagreed with him and he then proceeded to call me a cupcake etc...it's not important, but for all of you die hard followers of the Legion how do you feel about them? Was I mistaken thinking that the Legion has some sort of heart to them? Are they truly meant to only be hateful fighting machines? I've done the play through with CL about 7 times, and I've never reached that conclusion. I just want to know what others think. They are not simple brutal killing machines
They are using brutal tactics and ways in the present so they can have a stable future

I've always thought the same thing. They may be cold and merciless, but it's only to secure their future...and even then they can show some signs of mercy and actual love for one another. It may be a military state, but that doesn't make the people in it evil.

Ceasers Legion is a bunch of savages that show no sympathy for no one and are uncivilized. All they are is a brutal army with no morals.

Kudos, they claim they're civilizing these tribes. When all their doing is swallowing them into a big slave region....what does Caesar think of the future...after he's gone, he's thought of a savage ugly person. I just don't see the point.

And they do have morals, they dont slaughter women and children like the NCR do.

Put yourself in the position of the woman. I'm pretty sure most would choose the first recon bullet to the brain than the Legion alternative.

Dont bring in the Bitter springs card here. Its called miscommunication all army can have them.(dont go and say ohh but...but nothing it was a miscommunication).

Slavery is the worst crime that can happen and CL is pulling that move right now.

Poor Boone...Had to kill his wife so he could save her the misery of being a slave for the rest of her life....

Thats all people who support the Legion can come up with, yet in probably the first couple of hours of the game we come across Nipton where the Legion slaughters almost everyone including women and children.

And yes, Boone is a full grown man.

Boone is freakin' awesome, I back him EVERY time.. Even when I sided with the legion I purposefully refused to recruit him because I would have been forced to abandon the playthrough.

I love his endings where Lanius respects him and he spits in his face.

Not as much as the one were he wages a personal war against the legion, the legion posts record breaking bounties on him because he's assassinating their officers etc... None of them dare take on his bounty though...

The Legion isn't uncivilized, they are a savage, male is superior society. Their society is still a legitimate society. Look at their treatment of traders, if you are a friend to the Legion, you are, in Cass's words, 'Safe as houses'. NCR does not go this far to protect their traders. Anyone calling the Legion uncivilized hole squatters are just to biased to see the truth that the NCR and the Legion are both equally legitimate societies. One is a 'nicer' society, but it tends to be to slow to act, the other a harsh but safe society.

Yes but that is IT that Cass compliments them on and thats there trade routes are more secure than NCR.

Other than that she hates them.

You know, I don't really think of them as slavers either. Slavers work in the trade of buying and selling people for profit. Caesar's legion integrates slaves into the society. Slave are just people who are not physically fit enough to become legionaries. But seriously. The Legion protects their citizens. Caesars Legion is not his territories. There are two casks, one is the Legion itself, IE the armies, and then the citizens under the Legion. I'd imagine it's no different than NCR running Primm. In fact, look at Primm when the Legion runs it, it is kept very safe and secure from any foes.

I promise you, you'd be amazed at the world if you open you mind to new things. I managed to put my House fan boy behavior aside to do a Yes-Man, NCR, and Legion playthrough. I don't LIKE those three, but I learned new view points from their perspectives for doing so.

Yeah they don't slaughter women. They only have their way with them sixually and sell them and their kids into slavery. Their morals are right up their with saints :rolleyes:

Also NCR does not go around killing women and kids. One example (Bitter Springs) that was a mistake, fog of war thing is not the norm! Not to mention the Khans were long time enemies of NCR, even still it was a mistake. NCR does not make it their policy to go around massacring and enslaving.
