Never have I wished for a gaming-quality pc as I am right now. As it sits, I'm getting it for the 360, but I'm pumped by the detailed information both gleaned and inferred by the OP. (Well, aside from the Modmaking stuff...hence the wish for the pc..)

i know man. it's a damn dilemma. you don't want to get too unrealistically hyped up, and the inevitably disappointed in the end. at the same time tho, all these leaking details and tasty morsels of info, makes it REALLY hard not get carried away. i will admit, i was not the biggest fan of launch-time oblivion. I felt i got svckered in by the trailers and the e3 demo, but this time it FEELS different. the amount of unrestricted hands-on feedback and the obvious bump in visuals and animation is already impressively effective at reeling me in completely.
i have decided to remain unwaveringly positive. now the only challenge is resting the temptation to enter cryostasis until launch finally will be upon us hehe :)

This game will r0x0r the b0x0rz of all.

i haven't seen anybody say this since 2003. i don't know what i should be feeling right now.

also again why does everyone dwell on EXACT NUMBERS? i honestly don't get it. whether it's the size of Skyrim's map in square miles or the number of perks or the number of dungeons - what difference does it make? does your enjoyment of the game revolve entirely around marking off checklists?

but cool this is neat thanks

i dont know if you guys are familiar with all this information. ive searched the pc gamer threads, but so far i have not seen the following information anywhere. enjoy :o)

1. leon from OPM playing tag with the riverwood children

2. a half-naked man suddenly comes darting towards the player, the two engage in dialogue, the man wants the player to hold something for him BUT return it later, the player agrees to help out the man. a short time after a hunter comes running, asks the player if he has seen the thief, the players says no, but the hunter spots the thief running away and tries to kill him with an arrow ( another possible example of the read dead redemption type real-time instances /events that the combination of radiant a.i and radiant story might be able to produce).

3. In Riften the player is apparently invited to try out for the thieves guild ( i dont know how to do spoiler-tags, but i will say that the quest in here, sounds a lot more interesting and complex (unique animations) than in Oblivion).

4. todd talks about the "ice" shout, which freezes the target without necessarily killing him, but encases him in a block of ice falling over. leaving the target momentarily defenseless, while taking damage at the same time.then the ice shatters and does additional damage.

5. you have the opportunity to join the imperial guard.

1. Adorable.

2. That is freakin awesome.

3. Hmm.. We get invited? Damn.. Now I actually have to consider joining them.

4. Nice, nice.

5. For the Emperor! :gun:

a link?

ehm, the articles in question have already been mentioned numerous times on this board.
i just extracted the final details, that had not been touched on yet.
actually there is also a screenshot the players Argonian character inside of what looks like the Riften sewers, that i dont think have been talked about. .

the magazine can also be procured online through various means. happy shopping....or hunting :)

I love it the thing i was most hoping for is radiant ai like red dead and i have heard a few things that make me think the radiant ai will make random encounters around the map i love it.These type encounters really bring the world to life.

i could not have put it better myself.
and when we think about all the other things we have heard about, like the bandits rolling boulders off the bridge to attack you, and hunters actively trying to bring down "random" prey, it could very well be that we will get a game with the constant unpredictability of read dead.

Great post OP!!! Truly!

I love the variation described above, and specifically I haven't read where anyone has tried to dissect some of the variations in the Radiant AI like this before. It has been touched on in other threads, but not like this. I love the hype that is surrounding this game, but only because all of the third-party comments after playing it are offering dialogue in support of the hype. They are by no means forced to give good reviews for an upcoming game, but yet they are talking about Skyrim as if it were the Second Coming! lol

By the Gods I'm going to love this game!

I do feel it fair to mention that I am not a fan of mods, or the Editor/Creation/Construction Kit.

However, I do see the draw to the PC community for said Kit. If the editing tools are really so sensitive/well-worked as to allow the Gamer to be able to modify the Radiant AI... the possibilities boggle the mind! The amount of different variations in the mods would be nigh infinite at that point.

Truly a good post OP, and some great info.

Yeah, I agree with bow. I actually used to barely walk around the world on oblivion until i saw those big stones O.o then i wanted to find some. but even then i never walked around. If theres more random encounters then me walking for four hours then hell yes ill be walking!

thanks, but the real credit should go to the journalist. ive read most of the written info available, and except from a couple of early hands-on previews (during the character sceenshot phase) i havent read anything as vivid and involved as this article. and yeah its true, so many impartial sources are talking this game up like its a predestined GOTY. and like i said earlier.
i have chosen to believe them :)

if someone can tell me how to do spoiler-tags i can tell you about the likely thief-guild "invitation" in Riften, and why it triggered my interest so much ?
