More Clues in the Concept Art

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 2:44 am

You guys are aware this is a normal business practice in the game industry. A lot of the concept art shown in these type of things don't show up in game. I'm not saying most of it isn't relevant just that it's very common and normal for companies to show concept art before release that never makes it into games.

We may be getting a motorcycle! Look at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5esyZPt5Jo&feature=youtu.be&t=4m21s& 4:42. 4:23 shows the top of it and 4:42 shows the bottom half.

Well spotted! Could this be the same one we see lying on it's side near to the APC when everyone is running to the vault, or do you think it may be usable in game? Todd said we will not be driving cars, but he never said anything about bikes!

One man and his dog. And bike.

A little controversial, but as I've already said I think that's Arthur Maxson and Preston Garvey!

I bet bikes will be DLC. Remember stuff like their Game Jam for Skyrim. It's on their minds for sure, but they probably want to make the driving mechanics really smooth; the wasteland can be a rough place to travel on/through, and this is a Beth game after all. I'd be surprised if it's in the retail version, but that'd be even better.

I like the idea of gasoline being a rarity and you must scavenge parts to fix the bike before you can ride on it

He is guessing the guy in the power armor is Arthur, the guy in the middle is the PC and the guy to the right is Preston. Oh, and Dogmeat is there too.

No lol, I think Arthur Maxson is the guy in power armor in the foreground! Our protagonist is in the middle, with Preston Garvey standing behind him.

EDIT: didn't read above post in time, and forgot to mention Dogmeat!

You don't think the guy in the power armor could be your son?

It could be, or it could be a BOS Paladin/Knight/Initiate and a Minuteman......I do think Preston is wearing a different hat in the Microsoft E3 footage (the minuteman in the art seems to be wearing a tricorne, while preston has the floppy version of the tricorne).

Yeah, could be anyone. Heck, it could be his wife as far as we know.

The real question is: Who or what are they all shooting at?

:-o

awesome... :-)

- and even in another regard, totally different from the eusociality part:

i had, until just now, NO IDEA mole rats were an actually existing species...!?
always figured they're some fo-specific mole/rat-mutation... :-o

so, is a (real) "mole rat" about the same as a "vole"? (that'd be german "wühlmaus", lit. "dig mouse", which i'd never connected to mole rats, since they're... well.. mice :-)

edit: hey, i'm NOT off topic, i'm looking for clues, and i'll glady take them from the concept art (if they're in there) ,-)

I'm guessing that https://youtu.be/HTq3q8e8nhA?t=5m35s is Memory Den. With the look at it I'd guess we will be able to see more than just the pre-war tutorial.

Someone else probably already said this though

I think that the Memory Den will play a very important part in the main story, as well as a possible side-quest or two.

If my theory about the protagonist's son is correct, then we would be facing him at some point as the leader of an army of 'hybrid' synthetics. He would have been raised by the Institute to believe that he is also a synthetic, and would have no reason to suspect otherwise, especially if he has been in some way genetically enhanced. All of his functioning memory would be based around his 'evolution' whilst at the Institute.

In fact the only 'memories' he would have of ever being human would be the six weeks from his birth up until the day the bombs fell. And one of the most significant of these would be during the tutorial where the protagonist interacts with him by 'spinning the mobi a little bit'. But seeing as the conscious mind is generally incapable of recalling memories formed at such an early age, this would be locked away in some corner of his brain.

If only there were some kind of facility in the Commonwealth that could be used to recall lost memories. Something like a Memory Den...

I knew molerats existed, I just didn't know that they look like...that. The mutated versions actually look less scary...
