Not part of the concept art (it's in the trailer) but I did find http://imgur.com/wA4QYC9 on Reddit. A lot of people think it's just a glitch, other people think it's indicative of some kind of memory den sequence.
Or.
Maybe.
It indicates that our protag can see into the future. Like That's So Raven.
That is really [censored] interesting man. Why is the suit in gold trim though?
Perhaps a hint at a time travel quest. If it has to do with the memory den or seeing into the future, I don't get why we would we see him in the 3rd person?
I believe as I've already pointed out before thats a minuteman not a redcoat, which hints that CWBOS and the minutemen are the good guys in the game.
Given that its T-45b armour and has the BOS symbol I'd agree that its probably CWBOS, but I'd expect something about Maxson's armour to stand out beyond, generic CWBOS soldier.
I'm guessing you mean the head shot on the left which is a BOS guy, wearing a cloak or robe.....obviously BOS and obviously higher rank than the generic BOS troopers.
It reminds me of some of the Fallout Tactics artwork, so I'd guess at robes over power armour, he looks to me to be considerably older than 18.
I'd even go one step further and say that's actually Preston Garvey! Well spotted, will amend in OP
As for Maxson, there could be some custom/distinctive features on his armor that we can't see in this shot.
Or its a generic Minuteman and CWBOS trooper.......it looks like the protagonist fighting alongside both factions in a major battle rather than two important character to the story.
Actually, that's T-60 power armor. There are two easy ways to tell: 1) whereas the T-45 only has one seam running down the middle, there's what I can only describe as a fuller on the top of the T-60 helmet, and 2) Whereas the T-45 has one horizontal bar on the briastplate, the T-60 has two vertical bars. There's no precedent for T-60 power armor, which leads me to believe that it's either something that The Institute or Brotherhood of Steel came up with, possibly as a joint venture.
Could be, but I think we'll be fighting directly alongside key players further into the main quest.
Yes, that's the one, but I don't think he's wearing power armor under the robes, otherwise the robe would be 'stretched out' a lot more. It looks to be regular clothing, so maybe his clothing and not his armor would stands out as being a little more unique.
And I know what you mean about how old he looks, but if you cover the double-chin he looks like he could possibly be 18. He may just look a hell of a lot older due to the weight of responsibility he has had to bear given his role within the CWBOS.
Now this has got me really thinking! Definitely looks like our guy, but why would he be in this shot? Will have to start digging for more clues...
There are obvious differences between this armour (also appears at 5:42) and the one used in Fallout 3, I was forgetting about the power armour in the E3 footage when they were scrolling though the various types so maybe that shows a closer match.....the difficulty is saying for certain what mark of armour it is, are that how much has changed in the look of the armour since its now an actual power armoured suit rather than the armour of F3.
Edit: Looking at the rapidly scrolling footage a few times it does appear to be the new T-60 type, maybe the T-60 is an attempt to convert the T-45d's up to at least the capabilities of the T-51b or to the newer Enclave types they would have recovered.
Given the bounty of tech the CWBOS got from Fallout 3 (depending on the player choices) it would be surprising if they were still having to use the T-45ds, but it could be potentially confusing for the player for them to be using the Enclave armour types, especially if there is an enemy using a similar type of armour. So perhaps the T-60 is the result, very similar to the iconic T-45d from Fallout 3 but similar enough to be an obvious improvement rather than a radically different armour.
Most likely someone forget to hide the player in the sequence
Sure, which is why I noted many people think it's a glitch.
Tying into that there seems to another person on the wrong side of the fence. A lady. And then there's another figure further down but I can't actually tell what's going on there.
Sorry,http://i.imgur.com/z9jbP30.png, this child could be literally anybody or gender. Also, I doubt this game takes place so close to 3 timeline wise, I expect at least 30 year gap.
Edit: After further examination it seems said child has a dress / skirt on. Making your theory even less likely.
Not the child in the centre at 4:51, but the guy top left wearing a robe at 4:53. OP has been amended to clarify this.
You should screenshot it if you're able and upload it to imgur. Then link it here. That'll clear up a lot of confusion in the future, as I still don't see what you're talking about.
At 4:53 in the middle there are three versions of the same man (i'm guessing the new astronaut suit), to the left at the bottom is the mole rat queen, in the middle left is the aliens and above them is the headshot of a BOS member, wearing a cloak with a BOS cloak pin......at least that is my opnion since it doesn't look like robes and more like a cloak.
A enhanced screen shot would be better of course.
I can't upload screenshots at present, but will have to sort that as it would make it a lot easier. In the meantime, look for the shot with the alien holding a pistol and the queen mole rat, all on the left-hand side of the screen. The picture I'm referring to in my OP is the one immediately above the picture with the alien/s. It shows a male wearing a robe, and the metal circular 'clasp' holding the robe together has the BOS logo on it.
EDIT: just seen post above this one
I would like to point out that the bos logo is missing the sword and the wings.
True, but interestingly it's the same as the logo on the power armor at 5:40
I noticed that, maybe there is a need in the game to point out the difference between two BOS factions in Fallout 4.....I'm still looking at the 4:50 Super Mutants and thinking they may be a hint that the Midwestern BOS may have replaced the Enclave as the bad guys in F4.
Also at 4:51 to the right of the child we have a couple of redcoats.....so maybe the redcoats are the rival gang/group to the minutemen.
Looking again the power armour has the sword and wings part of the logo.
An all-out MidwestBoS vs CWBoS war would be badass. However for some reason I doubt Beth will ever include Tactics elements in her games in a relevant way.
