More Detailed Places - Ebonheart

More Detailed Places

More Detailed Places, short MDP aims to add more atmosphere to specific places.

To make that happen it's adding more sceneric objects, but in the same time also tries to keep these small additions as close as possible to the original Morrowind style. MDP isn't touching the places structual layout, NPCs, hightmaps or textures in any way, instead it simply makes them prettier and more detailed by placing in empty areas a lot of new vegetation, clutter, containers and so on.

So on side note; this should also be compatible with nearly all mods, that add new buildings or whatever in the same location as MDP! :)

This mod project requires just Morrowind. No expansions needed.

1st Edition - Ebonheart

This is the very first edition of it and it's all about the lovely city named Ebonheart!

2nd Edition - Maar Gan

This is the second edition of it and it's all about the small redoran city named Maar Gan!

Doneloaded it, great job, please more :)
And for constructive criticism:
I found the garrison a bit too full of flowers, the grounds there are probably used for training etc. so I guess planting flowers there wouldn't make sense, but that's the only negative thing I could imagine :)

I downloaded this earlier. Haven't had a chance to test it yet (will do so once my morrowind install is working again) but it looks good so far.

Looking forwards to it :)

Looking good.

Here is a new flora resource you might find interesting.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=8219

I also remember a while back someone releasing a mod/resource that added Morrowind era shipping cranes and boat docking equipment. They did Ebonheart however the resource would be good in other locations as well.

Thanks a lot for your kind feedback guys!

So far everything seems to be very positive about my project, that makes me really happy :)

I've updated the thread a bit with more information and 2 better download links.
Oh and the work on Maar Gan is also on a good way already.

Regarding your suggestions about adding new objects; I think it's a good idea... so I will work on that, too.

Nice! a bit too flowery for my tastes but it adds a bit more athmosphere to a rather boring place, and the addition of the clutter mods is great too

is there a german release, too or do you play with ev?

i think it's enough to send it through the fix-wie-nix or did you add any dialogue? your description says no, but just wanted to be sure...

Ja! It should work, since I didn't touch any dialogues or names at all...

And I can proudly announce that MDP - Maar Gan 1.0 is going to be released really soon!

I think I did quite a nice job on that one so far... so be excited! :D

Has anyone some ideas for what should be my next victim?
I'm mainly looking for places that got really few modding attention until now.

Khuul maybe?
(+ I could also try out that dock site clutter thing there)

More Detailed Places - Maar Gan is now released and added in the first post :)

I guess I will be taking on Khuul next then.

Oh and Could a moderator please change the topics name to "[RELz] More Detailed Places"?

That would be really nice!

Edit:
I've started working on Khuul now and it's going really good.
Here you can see some of the new stuff you've suggested me ingame already: http://www.abload.de/image.php?img=1v3l3.jpg - http://www.abload.de/image.php?img=2l2fq.jpg

You should probably try to contact a mod and ask them if you wish to change the title.

Anyway, I have always wanted the cities to be more cluttered, I will have to try this out sometime. :goodjob:

Just spent some time in Maar Gan so I decided to try your mod. (Haven't tried the Ebonheart mod yet.)

Maar Gan always seemed just a little too bare for me, even though its supposed to be a struggling outpost, so I was attracted to your mod from the outset. You've taken a very minimalistic approach, keeping the original feel but fleshing it out slightly, which I like. Perhaps you still have room, though, to add a few more unique placements to make it a bit more distinct from the original.

Also, I believe the mod needs to be cleaned up, including the 72 evil GMSTs, as well as some dirty references, I think. (I'm a non-modder so I don't claim to be an expert.)

Anyway, I'll be looking out for other releases from you. :)

Nice, thanks for sharing.

You should definitely re-advertise your other mod(s) too, just stumbled across Maar Gan on PES.

Very nice. That bit of Ebonheart with the random flowers next to the bench and crates... I think it might be worth considering going one way or the other a little more strongly. That is, either go all the way and make it more obviously a flower bed, or cut down on the flowers. Perhaps a bit more height variation too? The ones next to the inn look excellent. Anyway, I love Maar Gan, but that cart makes using coc to get there extremely annoying, since you get a little stuck behind it. *chuckle*

This mod suits my tastes for detailing settlements.

There isn't too much, yet not too little and the places retain their feel. Though as it has been said before, the flowers in Ebonheart don't quite suit that area.
Keep going though, I look forward to other settlements being done. :)

EDIT: Perhaps for the flowers in Ebonheart you could move them to just beside the inn.
