[RELz] More Detailed Places

More Detailed Places

More Detailed Places, short MDP aims to add more atmosphere to specific places.

To make that happen it's adding more sceneric objects, but in the same time also tries to keep these small additions as close as possible to the original Morrowind style. MDP isn't touching the places structual layout, NPCs, hightmaps or textures in any way, instead it simply makes them prettier and more detailed by placing in empty areas a lot of new vegetation, clutter, containers and so on.

So on side note; this should also be compatible with a lot mods, that add new buildings or whatever in the same location as MDP! :)

This mod project requires just Morrowind. No expansions needed.

This is the very first edition of it and it's all about the lovely city named Ebonheart!

Masterfully done! I've already got Ebonheart and Maar Gan - time for Khuul! I love the additons you've done - a water lift, an anchor... it's all the small things you'd find in real life that really bring those towns to life. :tops: I look forward to seeing what other towns you decide to work on. :)

I'm really happy to hear that, thanks a lot! :)

I'm open for suggestions about what to do next, but it should be some place that hasn't recieved much attention yet.

Nice, I thought this was going to be one of those huge revamp/overhaul mods that try to redesign cities but cause a lot of clashes. Small additions like these are perfect.

Thanks for the feedback guys! :)

@Alaisiagae: Dagon Fel sounds really good to me. I think I will work on that one next.

btw, I wonder if anyone has found the drunken body near Maar Gan or the sunken gold coin in Khuul yet? :P
Oh and could somebody give an endorsemant for Khuul on tesnexus? That would be awesome.

Oh no, the images are huge .png files! D: My internet loads .jpgs faster. DDS Converter or the Faststone Photo Resizer can do batch format conversions; the latter can also do batch-resizes. I love using these, especially for converting a bunch of screenshots from .bmp to .jpg. :)

EDIT: I retextured some planters with different architecture a while back, but I've not released them on the mod hosting websites as a resource. If you'd like to, you can download them http://www.mediafire.com/?lufzo4qzyjz. Credit is appreciated.

If other people are interested in using them, let me know if I should put these up as a proper mod.

Mods like these always interest me, but I'm worried about any possible FPS hit. How does this mod fare with an NPC adding mod such as Starfire's or MCA?

Looking forward to trying out Khuul. If I can find time with the new baby, after I deal with the skulls, I'd like to try something like this with interiors - I have FPS to burn indoors, and for me, there just isn't enough clutter.

There's a great set of hanging fish (on hooks and chopped up etc) resources that I think was by Barabus that would look great as dockside clutter - anyone know the mod im talking about?

Thanks, they are quite nice. I hope I can make use of them sometime...

I've seen a picture of them. They are kind of cool, but the textures are a bit too low res I think.

Uh, that's really hard to tell. I installed so many texture mods already, so I really don't know, sorry. :(

Yes... haha... if only there had been a mod that made the cities more atmospheric... :bolt:

EDIT: Just so you all know, I keep bringing it up because I will finish it someday!

I really, REALLY like these. They add a lot of atmosphere and quite a "lived in" feeling to the places. The visual fidelity is the same kind that impressed me about Morrowind when it first came out in 2003 (Wow, forks you can pick up!) but taken to a modern standard.

I really like the touches on the boats and docks, and would love to see you take on more remote, less-traveled places like Gnaar Mok, Vos, and perhaps even Molag Mar and such, and bring life to them as well.

I hope you keep up the good work. I'll certainly be downloading each one you make.

Thanks for the kind words :)

I've been thinking a lot about which place I should do next and it all comes up to Sadrith Mora (+ Wolverine Hall).
That city has always looked way too empty for my taste. And it will also give me some challenge, since it's pretty big.
