no more DLC for Skyrim #2

Post » Tue Apr 16, 2013 5:59 am

Too bad. I was hoping to see magic actually get some love from the dev team, and for villains who were actual characters rather than just merely devices.

I just hope that they'll learn from the mistakes they made with Skyrim and not repeat them with Fallout 4 or The Elder Scrolls VI or anything else they're working on now...

I am exited for TES VI but not fallout 4. I liked fallout 3 but it got boring after a few weeks. I have played skyrim Non stop since I got it and I still wont stop.

I'm with you there. I'll play Skyrim until the next TES and maybe beyond but no personal thrill for fallout. I hope it does well for them though..

Skyrim has filled 2 long dark winters with many, many hours of fun. Moving on brings the next TES nearer and that is good enough for me. Who can't help but be excited about the next Fallout or the next TES? I look forward to the next game and still have many Skyrim hours yet to play.

Sorry, but it just makes all the bugs in the game less palatable now. They rushed it to get it finished for 11-11-11 and now they rush off to the next project leaving an unfinished, unsatisfactory conclusion to the game. It shows a lack of respect for the craft of game development, which if continued doesn't bode well for the next game they are making.

I created an accountt(long time reader) just to list the many reasons this is BS.

1. Microsoft exclusivity all the way (not one non-exclusive DLC)
2. The DLCs Dawnguard and Dragonborn are arguably not comparable to the "meat" and length that Todd howard described of previous games
3. They could have mentioned this the many times they dispelled rumors of redguard, thalmor, high king DLCs. Seriously? they couldn't have thrown in a "hey these rumors are false because there is no dlc in the works"?
4. A game with this much success and the time they've had up till now could have vastly expanded the game.
5. $20 each was pushing it for what we got.

My guess is that the PS3 debacle and pressure to develop for next gen made them hang up all dlc plans.
Of course I'm probably just an "entitled whiner" who can't be sated, but these are my thoughts and it leaves me with a bitter taste in my mouth

I can personally. For me fallout is just there to fill that vast empty void til the next TES. I'll still be playing Skyrim til it comes out though. I wouldn't have cared so much if it wasn't for me having to put up with all those dlc threads, and me fantasizing about a civil war dlc. You know what the worst part is? No closure to the civil war. I was hoping some day we could finally get new info on the civil war that could finally put some things to bed. Now? Now we'll never know. I really wish they could have just said DB was the last one. It would have been MUCH MUCH easier to accept.

ESO's coming this year with ALL of the provinces to explore. That's a lot of Elder Scrolls on the horizon.

I imagine we will hear many rumors about that Civil War in TES VI. The sooner they make Fallout, the sooner we get TES VI. I enjoy the Fallout games. But I too love my TES. I think TES online comes out next year. I am normally not a MMO player but I do plan to try it out.

Same here waiting for something that never happens. Keeping us guessing like it was some game. Us fans posting ideas about future DLCs then you do this to us? WTF? Not cool. I don't think that many of us who purchase Skyrim will be coming back.

As I said in another thread, I am predicting a "Take Back Skyrim" movement by the end of the day.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist by any means, but I just don't get it. Did they have something planned that they just scrapped? More news to come.. we're still not done yet.. we'll announce something when we're ready..

Why the secrecy when you've been done for months? So [censored] annoying.

Even if it is pay to play? Not me I only purchase stuff once. Don't like subscriptions for games.

I'm excited for it myself. Disappointed because they said one thing, and another has happened. As a fan you have to understand that is disappointing. It never brings about positive reactions among people who recognize that they were told they were getting something, then didn't (unless what was to be received was a negative thing, like an arrow to the knee).

I'm not getting it. I refuse to support lore retcons, and they left out MK. And they left out Imperials...

If anyone is interested, Beth just tweeted that they want the fans to tweet them their Skyrim memories with the hashtag SkyrimMemories and they'll be posting some of then on the website.

#SkyrimMemories

I doubt they'll post any of the most notable ones from PS3 experiences...

Just a hunch.

They failed to make the final DLC in time before they had to move on to FO4. I believe they were trying, but they failed.

The whole ps3 thing probably put them behind schedule for the next FO game, so they have to pull the plug a little earlier to make sure the new FO is out in the same ballpark as the new console releases.

What happened to them making DLC for Skyrim as long as people are playing it?
