No More DLC for Skyrim #4

Post » Tue Apr 16, 2013 6:17 am

Eh, I've finally crossed over to acceptance. I'm goin to enjoy Legendary difficulty, and my roleplay.
I think that I've reached that point as well... but I think I'll take a day or two off from Skyrim and play something else. Get my mind off it ect.

Empire = Bethesda
Planet = Skyrim
Obi Wan = Vigilant Twitter users
Luke = Members in Denial

Keep dreamin. Most the coverage Khajiit will get is a saucer of milk outside Beth HQ.

So Pete Hines answered my tweet.

Bethesda really do have some of the worst PR folks (not all, mind you) that I've encountered in recent years.

I've said it before and I will say it again; if you're making EA look good at something.. especially PR (given public perception, at least), then there's something wrong.

I repost it here -- sorry for that, I didn't see the #4... Some more bargaining...

Just an idea that crossed my mind.

What if Beth hired some young talents, concept artists, and maybe even modders, and constituted tiny crowdfunded "satellite" teams (for example, thanks to Kickstarter, or by submitting small-scope DLCs to the vote of the public and then asking for Paypal pledge from the fans)? It would allow the coming of further DLCs without hindering the development of their major projects or svcking their funds away. Further, it would allow talented people to come into Bethesda, and would provide a future think tank/recruitment tank to Bethesda...

What do you think about it ?

My bad LOL I read that as Elsweyr for some reason. I'm just hoping for Hammerfell.

I'm willing to bet that they had planned to do more, but so much time had flown trying to get everything working on the PS3.

I'm really disappointed with these guys. They left us on a rehash.

Oh how I wish today was April 1st

Really disappointed to be honest, firstly because I think there was so much potential for future content and secondly because there are so many stories left unfinished. The Thalmor being the glaring example

Thats pretty much how i feel, but in a way i do understand their decision. Skyrim was already bushing the console limits. they wouldn't have succeeded creating a 3rd DLC. my guess is that they were working on the 3rd one whether this one Redguard or some other title that we don't know about. but they couldn't wrap it up on xbox and ps3 so they called it off.

Ill just leave my post from the previous thread cause this is likely what im gonna do.

I'm with a broken heart right now. i just cant believe my dragonborn's story is over.. nope i refuse to believe this. ill just go play more Skyrim and fantasies about more DLC ideas.

yeah just heard this now, quite a shame because it does feel "unfinished".If they would have done 1 more big DLC then i could understand, but really Dawnguard and Dragonborn only? In my opinion i still look at Dawnguard like its not even a real DLC because it just added a huge questline and vampire/werewolf perk trees.Im extremely disappointed at Bethesda but definitely not surprised.Anything goes when your dealing with Bethesda though.Anyways long live Skyrim, great game but so incomplete.

Technically he didn't lie though and Beth's PR team is still better then EA's. His original tweet didn't say "working on new skyrim dlcs" just new content, that doesn't mean he meant dlcs and it wasn't really his job to say there wouldn't be more dlcs because he probably didn't know that they would stop making dlcs, it was most likely that the decision was made after december 3rd 2012.

I don't think this has anything to do with PR. They were probably going to start another DLC and then they said to themseles, oh wait, Fallout 4 is becoming a huge project, it's either make another two DLC's for Skyrim or give a full year+ to release fallout 4. They made the decision quickly and here we are.

Oh no, I was hoping for some house amour.

To be honest Skyrim's DLCs weren't as good as Oblivion's or Morrowind's.

No, EA's PR team are an absolute delight to communicate and work with.

It doesn't matter whether he lied or not. The communication was less than stellar (being kind here) and it isn't the first time in post Skyrim support cycle. See the poor PS3 users for example.

Maybe, but the obvious conclusion that people were going to take from that was more Skyrim content.

Anyone in PR should have known that and that makes it a lie
