No More DLC for Skyrim #4

Post » Tue Apr 16, 2013 11:24 am

I'd have preferred they made just one big expansion like Shivering Isles.
Who wouldn't? But Oblivion somehow managed to have some other significant smaller dlc's and SI.

The fact still remains that the people who are saying "Oh he lied or was misleading" is wrong, he never stated they were working on dlcs and if you instantly assume he did then it's your own fault for getting your hopes up.

The fact is it was purposefully misleading and you saying that it wasn't, is wrong, not the other way around.

Yeah because we need more generic lore based around human races.

No thanks.

*TES VI: Alinor* über alles

I can't imagine the New Vegas Obsidian people would be celebrating. They think bethesda is the anti-christ and yet they will buy Fallout 4 despite that. Hypocrites.
"New Vegas Obsidian" people? You mean devs of NV or folks like NMA?

"AS FAR AS DLC FOR SKYRIM GOES, WE'RE NOT DONE." That is VERY misleading. You need CHIM to prove that BS isn't.

But you still have to take into consideration THAT HE DOESN'T DECIDE IF THEY STOP MAKING DLCS OR NOT, THAT'S PRIMARILY THE HEADS OF THE COMPANY the idea to stop making dlcs could've literally been decided last week or today.

No, it's not. That was 4 months of silence. They had no reason to not say this after Dragonborn's release. The precedent had been set by other games. It's bad PR.
totally agree with you.Bad PR.

Told you all there would be no more DLC. "But Legion! Skyrim is Bethesda's most successful game! Why would they stop making DLC ya herp!". Because it's already 2013 nearly 2014! We're way past Skyrim's life span and it's time for a new project at hand to prepare for next-gen! Sillies. You want to see Hammerfell or Alinor, you'll have to wait until TES: VI which is how I believe it should be. Either way, can't say its good news, nor do I see it as bad news or something to freak out over (like a lot of people are doing for some reason). Either way, I see people are already complaining that this has been discussed to death, so I'll just leave it at that and join in on the further discussions if any. Also, there are over 100 users looking at this thread!

I agree with the first part. The second part... I'm mentally scarred.

If they were working on a another DLC for Skyrim maybe it or pieces of it will find itself in the next TES. Hopefully we can take the fight to the Thalmor.

Thank you for bringing some hope -- bittersweet hope but hope nevertheless -- to this despaired community.

Look at it this way. If we get them out of the way first then we can focus on the non-human races afterwards.

I'd honestly prefer a Black Marsh game next. Humans are cool and all, but three in a row would be disappointing.

Alinor, Elsweyr, or Black Marsh. Any of them would work for me. Just so long as it's not a place with Dwemer ruins...

Hey... Gstaff is among us. I guess it's the right moment for saying "thank you for everything" ?

I feel sad, but feel I have to say it anyways.

"Let's do Bretons next!!"

For the love of god Bethesda, just do a race that requires a significant amount of creative lore-work and not "let's just research Nordic culture and copy that."

Paradox Development Studios released an expansion for Europa Universalis 3 not one, not two, but THREE years after the game's release, as well as some other stuff.

All the while working on other projects.

So your "herp derp guise its 2013" argument is well... poor.

I am upset. It usually takes Bethesda many years to develop the next Elder Scrolls game so if they are moving onto TES6 it will be a long way off. If they are moving onto another Fallout/ESO I am equally upset because I am not really interested in online rpgs and I never could get into the Fallout series.

No way Argonians getting their own game. Not nearly as sixy and market-baiting as humans and elves.

it's either Hammerfell, Valenwood or Alinor next.
My guess is Alinor because I think they changed Summerset Isles to Alinor for that reason - TES VI: Summerset Isles sounds like a Hello Kitty game.

Indeed. I love what they have done. I am just.. frustrated with the communication.. also frustrated with the story-arc.

Who knows... There is also Wasteland 2 looming on the horizon made by the vary people who created the first Wasteland and some of those who designed the original Fallout.
