No More DLC....Now What?

Post » Tue Apr 16, 2013 10:41 pm

So now that Bethesda has announced no more DLC for Skyrim, this makes me wonder what will happen to the Dragonborn, lore-wise, after the events of Skyrim.

Will the Dragonborn just fade away, like heroes before, even after all the power he gained and mantling stuff? What about the Civil War? If there was ever a cliffhanger moment in an ES game, Skyrim has it beat.

Tullius/Ulfric both seem to foreshadow that "this won't be the end of our work" and the Thalmor are still a looming threat. Do we just assume the LDB just faded away as a servant of Hermaeus Mora? That would be pretty lame

The rumours will hint at his fate in the next game like the Nerevarine going to Akavir rumours in Oblivion and Sheo in Skyrim, but it's up to you really.

I'm tempted to put together a team to make a mod or at least write something about how the Civil War and the fate of the DB are resolved

That's really disappointing. There's still a lot of cool stuff from that Game Jam video (spears, whips, giant enemy mudcrabs) that I was hoping they would include in a new DLC. Hopefully at least some of it gets included in one of the "minor updates" down the road. If nothing else, they should at least give us the leftover models, textures, and animations in a big resource pack so we can put them in the game ourselves.

Ya I'm surprised we didn't get any sort of resolution to his story.

I hope we get something more satisfying than the Nerevar-Akavir thing.

What happened to him will probably be up to you. His/Her involvement doesn't reach outside of Skyrim (You'd think the Thalmor would take a little more notice to it, but nothing came of that it seems), so he'll hardly have a impact on the other provinces.

As for the Civil war, Ulfric will certainly be killed at some point, though Skyrim may still end up independent due potential internal problems within Cyrodiil.

Yeah, it bites hard. There's a lot more there that they could have given or expanded upon.

Have you noticed that Elisif, regardless of whose side you take, is untouched by the events of the war?

Again, I'm considering getting people together to make a big "finale" mod that acts as a DLC-like thing to resolve some of those things. Ideas and input would be appreciated
