more drugs in game

What we can't have illegal potions or contraband?

I imagine there would be contraband of many types but as in most wars corruption reaches into the highest places of society and gets to the point where money can buy your way in or out of anything and the drug traders would have more to worry about from bandits and and the other side attacking their shipments in a country torn in two during a civil war. local officials that are short of manpower would have little reason to be concerned about the drug trade during this time but it would be fun to have quests involving a war on drugs and smugglers I guess.

In the construction set It would interesting to have NPCs that you can check as a druggie, with varying costly habits, no money for drugs, attitude and aggression factors and desperation moves such as a sneaky sudden attack with knife or axe halfway through his Spare Change speech " Please Sir help my poor wife and starving ki... Smash! You get hit with a mace and it's lights out and you wake up robbed.
Or vary it with a band of drug crazies with zombiac determinism. Either way you have to hunt down the druggie to get your Important family heirloom that coincidentally you were carrying around that night.

If you want it back. that could lead you into a fearsome feud between the two top drug cartels of Skyrim . This in turn leads you into some drug running quests to 'prove loyalty' and move up the cartel faction while figure out through cunning and clever subterfuge causing them to destroy themselves through in-fighting and you then become a crown witness for the prosecution and are exonerated by a big wig for all previous misdeeds and become a palace favorite and move up the hero scale leading to more honorable quests.

But don't use the term druggie in a quest as the term wasn't coined until 1968 when it was used to visually and audibly link the drug word to the term hippie.

Lets keep it at Skooma. In fallout series people do drugs because the world is super depressing, and there's no reason to live. Skooma originates from a powder called moonsuger, which is in khajits food. Khajits are immune to pure moonsuger, but in the form of Skooma is addicting. I'm just saying this because I do like the Skooma lore.

Drugs in Fallout take the place of alchemy in TES by providing magic type benefits in a non magic environment. That said, i don't feel the need to increase drug use, just for the sake of drug use, in TES.

Since there were so many potions, I didn't see a need for drugs in Oblivion. I don't think it's necessary for Skyrim either...especially if there are negative effects that go along with it and that would only make sense.

I wouldn't mind a couple of new lore appropriate drugs, Greenmote was pretty amusing in Shivering Isles.

I think they should get rid of all the drugs in TES. They serve no purpose at all. I never used a Skooma at all. I just don't see the attraction.

I said I think we should have more drugs because of the effects. Although I suppose you could make potions that accomplish the same things without the detriment that they had in oblivion.

I say there should be visual effects to doing drugs, not just stat effects.

Skooma and moonsugar should be enough for the junkies of Tamriel.

I would expect none this time around, and if there are, I would expect their use to be only vaguely implied.

Moonsugar isn't a hard drug for Khajiit. It's a basic spice and ingredient essential to everyday life. Like Coca leaves for people in the Andes.

When you get a game with alchemy, potions, beverage, all sorts of fictional shrooms and plants, you don't really need drugs, do you?

Such as it was in Oblivion maybe, or a little more in the open like Morrowind, I would like to see drug such as skooma or moon sugar in some areas but not as common or nonexistant in other areas. Maybe they could add a few other things in but we dont need a wide array of drugs like there was in any Fallout title.

as a developing world drugs and other thing can play an integral part in the development of a believable world I think skomma was enough for the other games but the universe is getting bigger and the games better so adding in a few new drugs such as tobacco related ones (with or without pipes) and their respective animations could create a fantastic atmosphere. I mean picture walking in to a Smokey drug house and walking over to the drug lord or coming up to an old wise nord whose puffing on his ornate pipe wile in front of a fireplace. I personally think that drugs are bad but they are a reality in the world so they do have a place in our creations.

They could do the game as they wished and toss vendor opinions to the wind; just offer anything that raised even the silliest ESRB flag for AO rating as a DLC.
(all of it bundled I mean... anything they had to change or remove.)

Other companies have done this. When 3DRealms released a Walmart edition of Shadow Warrior, they had to pull content from the game; later they just put a restoration patch up as a free download on their website.

NPCs smoking tobacco would be awesome. Walk into a tavern and see a bunch of Nords getting plastered. Some older fellows in the back chatting and svcking on their pipes. Would really add to the atmosphere.
Head over to a sheogorath shrine to find a bunch of khajiit gathered in a circle smoking from a skooma pipe.

Having some NPC's smoking tobacco from a pipe occasionally might be a good touch, but I don't really care.
