more drugs in game

In Morrowind there was a skooma pipe that could be used instead of an alembic when using potions.
I want it back; not for alchemy, but for smoking skooma. I also want to see moon sugar again.

...any other new drugs are also welcome, of course. :hubbahubba:

I'd like to be able to delve a little deeper into the whole skooma culture with a little bit of moonsugar refining and some visual effects from ingesting the skooma. I'd like to be able to buy a pipe to smoke some leaf and have some interesting effects from getting drunk. Nothing lame though, a little peripheral blurr and some tripping when you walk is enough. Maybe if you have enough to drink you black out and sleep for a few hours, when you wake up you find that someone stole something of yours or some gold lol or you wake up next to a fat nord woman. It'd be nice to see some drunks in the street at night hanging out or behind the pubs too. :foodndrink:

It would be cool to see NPCs hitting the skooma pipes, or taking the moonsugar. I mean granted, I despise drugs in real life. I just think it would be more interesting if there were animations, as well as effects on their animations.

As for more drugs? I don't really see any reason for it. :confused:

it might be intresting if they made more drugs or smoking because in new vegas people would smoke n stuff (not sure if it would go against lore)

Its against lore, and its a midevil fatasy game, smoking would not fit. Also this is TES not boring Fallout. :pinch:

They had pipes in morrowind and since when has smoking not been in the medieval fantasy setting, mages often smoke to settle nerves.

Edit:Not to mention, in the actual medieval ages smoking opium was popular.

:facepalm: People have been smoking tobacco and other substances for two thousand years.

And it's a medieval game except for the Ancient Roman influences, printing industry, literacy, robots, zeppelins and spaceships.

It might be neat if drugs were folded in with poisons, and have the FO:NV poison mechanics [used for melee weapons], be extended to other objects.

I remember playing a game where the player faced a guardian that they could never defeat; a gargoyle, but he was slow to rise, so you could usually run from him, but the player could light a poisoned candle and leave it in the room... after a while the gargoyle drops dead. I think that could even be done with a scripts in Oblivion. One for the poisoning of the wax, and the other for the area effect cloud of the gas.

I suppose a drugged candle would affect everyone in the room. I don't think a healing drug would make sense in this case (healing everyone in the room), but drugs that add a small bonus or penalty might work well. *Not just on candles of course... mugs, cups, and food items; traps. Imagine being able to drug a guard, and have them display the drug effects as a diversion, while the PC sneaks past several others that respond to the drugged guard's disturbance.

Come to think of it... The Witcher handled drugs pretty well (I thought).

its not against lore because they grew tabacco in oblivion and and the only reason they would grow it is to smoke and they had pipes in morrowind for skooma,so they probley smoked tabacco with pipes at on time or another, next time look a few things up before you post stupid stuff :nono:

BUT: Skooma should have more realistic affects, not just blurring your intelligence for 60 seconds on self.

Apart from Moon Sugar and Skooma, I'd like to see a few smokable tobacco pipes a'la Aragorn smoking in the tavern in Lord of the Rings. I'm being a nordic ranger type character and Ranger + Hood + Pipe = Win.

EDIT: Just read the earlier posts about smoking, I agree defo no ciggys but please give me my pipe :D Smokable narcotics no as well.

The reverse. In Tamriel literacy seems to be widespread.

i just really hope the drugs do things to your vision or experience in game. like if your drunk the screens a little warped, everyones prettier ;), and combat is harder.

There were plenty of mods for Oblivion that added "Exotic smokeables". I expect them to return, and I don't really mind. I always envisoned Skooma as the crack of Tamriel, so drug abuse is obviously an issue there, I don't see any problem with adding more drugs to the game. My characters are usually people who enjoy having a drink and the occasional bit of Moon Sugar or Skooma now and then.

EDIT: Oh, I forgot. Imagine playing a wizard and smoking an awesomem big pipe? Come on, how is that not something we want? :P
