more Expansions?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 10:43 am

So anyway Morrowind, big game had 2 Expansions. Oblivion had 1, yes I know many of you consider Knights of the Nine an expansion but it was just a really good add on.

now I don't know whether Skyrim will go with the good old way of bringing out expansions or if it's going the fallout way.

I myself would like to see something like 2 expansions and cheaper add-ons like knights of the nine instead of a house here and a tower there.

but what do you think?

clean up your poll a little.

i will translate

large expansions- shivering ilse, bloodmoon, tribunal etc

large dlcs- knights of nine, broken steel etc

redundant option

as clearly stated, a mixture

As long as they don't include something yet not include it to get you to pay extra for it like the Orrery. A lot of games seem to be doing that lately. Like Fable 2. You get some of the Assasin outfit, but have to download the rest of it off Live. WTF?

every Fallout 3 expansion offered a new region, Pit, Lookout, burning steel, Anchorage (even though simulated)

BUT I rather not, those expansion packs were rollercoasters, including NV's Dead money, they are just rollercoasters and give you no reason to go back or doesnt let you. If they do sixy like SI and just RUN with it (Si died like Oblivion after all the Sidequests etc etc) then Skyrim could have epic expansion packs. and of COURSE they better Daedric expansions, Im not expecting additional provinces or anything, but Daedric realms would kick [censored]

I hope they don't try some [censored] like that.

Annoyed the hell out of me that I needed a DLC for such a small update that should have been part of the game. Never got it, but I know it wasn't worth it.

Shivering Isles expanded Cyrodiil and had a main quest. Stuff like Frostcrag Spire added a tower, it didn't expand the game.

Poll is worded very weird, I can't make heads or tails of it. >_>
But yeah, I want an expansion. But I mean, who knows? No one knows, the game isn't even close to being released yet. We'll hear about an expansion in over a year probably. Not sooner though.

I won't be buying any horse armor or what's basically a small collection of weapons/armor that aren't anything more spectacular than stuff modders put out for free.

I'll buy DLC if it's actually something substantial, but I prefer full-expansions generally.

who said Frostcrag was a Expansion pack? it was labled as a DLC, it doesnt even have its own disk.

Fully fledged expansions coming in boxes to my local store. I want to see new territory with new quest lines.

As I understand Skyrim will get Fallout 3 sized expansions, the Oblivion sized download content as in houses is to small and cheap while SI, tribunal and Bloodmoon is to large and takes to long to develop.
Fallout 3 size expansion packs fits them best. However Skyrim would be a popular games for years if we look at Morrowind and Oblivion so you could probably sell epansions with profit for longer time than Fallout 3.

Point Lookout for Fallout 3 was pretty big though. Added a rather large new area, with new items and enemies. It also had it's own questline.
It's not like Shivering Isles was the last big expansion Bethesda made for one of their games.

I'd like them more like FO3, but I always hated that the content from the DLC didn't really get spread through the wastes. If an expansion adds new armor and weapons, I'd like to see them added to the leveled lists and whatnot of the vanilla game, because after all, variety is the fruit of life! :flamethrower:

Definitely this. I was one of the dupes that actually bought the horse armor DLC.

Won't be making a mistake like that again.
