I'm all in favour of more factions. I think it would add to the realism if you were able to join, for example, the Necromancers, who the Mages guild have been denouncing years.

Flexibility is good.

I liked having houses like you did in Morrowind. Give it a bit of a local/political aspect, would also fit very well with the civil war going on.

I think there should be more, and I think you should not be able to join factions simultaneously that are enemies or in competition with each other.

Good point.

Um, what's with the poll. Morag Tong weren't in Skyrim, they're strictly a Morrowind group. You shouldn't be able to join them. The Mythic Dawn were the big bad last game; 1. Why would they still be around? 2. Why should you be able to join them?
Same with the Blackwood company. The PC destroyed them in Oblivion, why would they exist 200 years later?

I'm all for a few new guilds as long as they fit the lore...

I'd like to see a fully developed crime syndicate. They could deal in all kinds of criminal activities... the traffic of goods (high value and high quantity... think crates of skooma), extorsion of the merchants for protection, hijacking ships and caravans, etc. It would be fun to have a truly "bad" faction other than just assassination quests. Sure, the Thiefs Guild steals, but you never truly feel "criminal" in those quests... and least I didn't.

I would love more obviously, but what I wouldn't want is a ton of factions with very little depth.

I would prefer a small handful of joinable factions with a lot of depth and a number of non-joinable with little depth than to have a lot of joinable with little depth. Hope that wasn't too confusing.

Blackwood Company? In Skyrim?

What the hell would the Mythic Dawn be doing? Mankar Camoran is dead, Dagon is banished from Mundus, there's not a whole lot to do. The Mythic Dawn should have disbanded by now and went back to being Daedra worshipers just like every other group of Daedra worshipers in Tamriel.

I don't mind more content though, as long as it's good. Quality over quantity.

My vote was "maybe," as I do not know how many, or, what the current factions in game are.

I hope that the various holds can be factions of some kind, in addition to others.

Well, you could actually still vote "Yes." More can imply that you want more than a couple, even without knowing how many there presently are or will be on release. It's not suggesting you think there are too few, but that you'd simply like more factions in general in relation to too few.

On-topic, I don't know how I feel. It depends on what the factions are. I'm going to be doing multiple playthroughs, though, so I guess it doesn't matter, as I will probably interact with everything. Well... not probably, most definitely.

your going to have your fighters, Thieves, mages guilds and dark brotherhood. you'll also have pro-Imperial Nords and anti-Imperial Nords due to the Civil War
you can expect the Imperial Legion. Also wouldnt mind joining a city watch contingent to fight off bandits, animals, Theives, and Dragons

Morrowind has been completely overrun by the Argonians and most of the Dunmer have been wiped out. The remaining Dunmer population is living in Skyrim as refugees, so it is highly plausible that the Morag Tong would be present and attempting to assert itself in its new home. In fact, I would love it if both the Morag Tong and the Dark Brotherhood were present and you had to choose one or the other and fight for dominance over the other one.

What about sub-factions, like joining the Mages guild and then later specialising in a perticular branch of the Guild like "Necromancer Hunter" or something

I would like a Diplomatic trading guild with a bit of inside trading and espionage.

I would like different branches of the Fighter's Guild so at one branch you specialise in Bandits and Beasts and at another branch you specialise in Vampires and other supernatural creatures.

yes! as much as they possible can and make them good at the same time. does the mythic dawn still exist, I figure they do, they would make a good evil faction but I don't think they will be an antagonising faction since they're main leaders are gone.

I would like a return of the Imperial Legion, with its own quest line somewhat unrelated to the civil war in places. I loved the feel of it in morrowind. Going to that Garrison, applying for the legion, being given your own armor and doing pretty dumb, guard sort of jobs at the beginning. It was interesnting to work your way up.

The court of each hold, the city guards of each county, (some will feed into the Imperial Legion, some will feed into the Skyrim Rebellion), The Imperial Cult, the Religion of Skyrim (idk what to call it. Shor-ism.) the two mages guild replacements, necromancers, Witch Covens, Vampie tribes, (several of all of these) local gangs, the thieves guild's remnants, Dark Brotherhood (overhauled), Fighters Guild, and Morag Tong.

more if possible.

I'd like a Loremaster faction. It could include quests where you would have to travel and hunt for archaic rare books, break codes, provide translation services, and exchange information with questionable characters with rich backstories.

Sure, I'd be all welcoming to new factions!
And the Imperial Legion should be joinable as well.
