More gore?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:23 am

Semi-realistic amounts of gore. I want to take my enemy's heads, arms, ect. when appropriate. I don't want pristine corpses, either.

But Fallout-level over-the-top carnage would be to much,

Thats what comes next, but if i m a werewolf and i m attacking an orc dont expect the orc to die instantly, maybe there will be a bloody fight between them until the end

Well of course not, especially if that Orc happens to be wearing Sotonhorian armor and is wielding a Nordic Silver Battle-Axe with a single hand, because that Orc would be me, and you're about to get pwned, Fido. :P

I want decapitations, I want dismemberment, I want to see entrails hanging from the hilt of my sword. If I hit someone with a powerful overhead swing, on the skull, I want to see brain matter. I want to see pulsating blood pumping from dismembered limbs. I want to hear gurgling after slicing someones throat. I want to see a couple of teeth fly out of the mouth of a foe that just got the business end of my shield bash. I want to have to wash bone marrow out of my hair. You people are a bunch of pansies.

I'd like to see more gore, but I don't want them to go overboard like they did with the bloody mess perk in Fallout 3...

Assuming there are werewolves, of course. The Nords on Solstheim didn't seem to think too highly of them, but then again, the people of Morrowind shunned vampires, and there were still plenty of them. At least until I came around.

Nah, unless they make them immune to the effects of silver, I don't think I have anything to worry about.

I believe that they will be there waiting for us i m sure, i ve read it on the elder scrolls page about Skyrim that it is a land with many werewolfs, you may have silver but they may use the element of suprise especially inside a dark and snowy forest at night

That's what Night Eye is for. Face it, the only thing I have to worry about is repairing my shredded armor after I turn them into dog soup. Or if there happens to be more than a dozen of them in one place, in which case it's time for a Ring of Divine Death.

I think Deadly Reflex got the amount of gore right. If you happen to finish off an enemy with a critical strike you'll take his head or arms off. Not too over the top.

It would be nice to have all those things, but I'll agree that it shouldn't happen to EVERY opponent. Ala, the bloody mess perk from FO:NV, was a bit much, especially because it happened every time you killed anything. I want gore and all that goes with it to be in Skyrim, but I want it to be rare enough, that its a surprise when it happens....I want to scream like a little girl from the shock and horror of what I just did....and then giggle.

The Deadly Reflex I had on before was kinda fake tbh.

Anyway, Moderate Gore please!

I want gore, I dont want exploding bodies ala bloodymess in fallout. But random dismemberment or visible flesh wounds would be nice, or even broken bones from blunt objects. I mean lets face it, if I hit a guy in the face with a mace, he wont be looking as fresh as a daisy now will he?

Sad to see so many people want TES to look like a goofy comedy game. Lots of gore just looks ridiculous, like the bloody mess perk in Fallout.

Gory = goofy, plain and simple. If that's what you want in your games, fine. But I would rather TES take itself at least a little seriously, without the goofy gore and decapitations. I don't play TES for cheap laughs.

I can't stand it. It makes me regret how many bandits I kill in the game.

Just a little bit for realism. I know I would personally [censored] myself if I chopped up a zombie and it kept coming at me (at least until I got in a good headshot anyway)! :bolt: But no blood for the undead - no pumping hearts, you see.

Sir what is "goofy" about getting hit with a machete?

Yea but the same team that developed fallout with all its g(l)ory elements, developed elder scrolls, so there is a chance that they might go for it on skyrim too, not that i would prefer that, but i dont have any idea how it will look in this kind of game if it has a balance, because ok lets face (elder scrolls) it is not a goofy game but it has some goofy elements, like zombies, which of course on elder scrolls are implemented the right way, they are scary and not funny, atleast to me

I think having things more gory would be nice. I'm imagining Skyrim to be more gritty (at least I hope it will be) than Tamriel, so if people actually bled, it would add a lot more realism. Specifically, when I swing a sword at someone's chest, I want there to be a visible cut where I hit him. I want blood to come out of it. Like in real life. As far as your own character, it would help if blood didn't just disappear from your body like in Oblivion. It would be awesome if sword was covered in blood at the end of a battle.

I think the gory element in FO was fitting to its sense of humour - especially the bloody mess perk and it's description :P I like those games a lot, but I do think that the gore seems more, I don't know, frivolous than TES. Not that TES doesn't have it's own funny moments, but FO seems more suited to that kind of humour which verges on a kind of psychopathic slapstick. Not sure if that's the best way to describe it but hopefully you know what I mean :)

Give us like a 10% chance of severing a limb.

Sir what is "goofy" about getting hit with a machete?

A machete that makes limbs explode off with geysers of blood (or that even draws blood at all when striking ring mail or plate armor) is goofy. Sorry.

Virtually every depiction of decapitation or "extreme gore" within this generation of gaming hardware has resulted in goofy-looking stupidity. You might think TESV will be different, but I call that blind optimism.

Since the game features blades and knives, it would at least be nice if you could sever limbs.
